In April I will be traveling with my 2 choral groups of 52 to sing in the YES program. Would I be able to take my 4 day hopper and pay the difference for an AP? Thanks!

The difference from what you originally paid and the full cost of an AP would be the price to upgrade.

I thought YES tickets were treated like third-party tickets and bridged to the current gate price. I’m pretty sure that’s what happened for me, but it’s been a few years.

Per Mousesavers:

Discounted Disney Tickets from the Y.E.S. (Youth Education Series) Program

Disney Y.E.S. programs are special educational programs offered in the Walt Disney World theme parks on selected dates to students in 1st through 12th grade. Y.E.S. is a wonderful educational program, but it also has an added benefit: discounted tickets.

You can get 3-Day to 10-Day Base Tickets. Park Hopper and Water Park Fun & More options can also be added. However, the No Expiration option is NOT available with these tickets and cannot be added.

Y.E.S. tickets must be paid in full upon registration and are non-refundable, non-transferrable, non-upgradable, and cannot be saved for later use.

Has something changed? I thought that YES tickets were not upgradable once issued by Disney.

I'd call YES and see what they say because this was my understanding, as well. When we did the (now discontinued) Individual Program, I bought the family's through YES and mine to upgrade from a third party seller. There's an old YES thread that contained the info. With the changes to ticket structure and the YES program, it may be different.

By the rulebook, they're not upgradeable, as far as I know. We don't see an awful lot of them, but pretty much all 'youth' type tickets are listed as a no-upgrade in our documentation.

If a CM makes an exception and chooses to upgrade them, they're not supposed to be price bridged.

My statement of paying the full price difference between what was paid for the YES tickets to "upgrade" to regular MYW tickets was based on simply not using the YES tickets, but trading them in on full price MYW tickets.
(Not getting a price bridge.)

I would be more than willing to just pay the difference of what was paid for the YES tix...man thats a little disappointing.

When you arrive at WDW, go to a Guest Relations and tell them that you changed your mind and
that you want to buy full-price tickets instead of using your YES tickets.

It can't hurt to ask nicely, and it may very well work for you.
It's not really an "upgrade," but simply trading in new, unused tickets
for higher-priced tickets.

In fact, you can try to call Disney right now

(407) 566-4985 (option 5)
Hours: 8:30am-4:30pm ET Mon-Sat

and ask to do what I just suggested...
before your trip.

Thanks for your suggestion!!!

I just called my Disney Contact for my trip and she just reimbursed my 3 tickets via a check so i can go ahead and purchase my AP’s.

All is good!
