YES tickets - still not upgradeable to AP?

The only post I could find on this topic was from 2012, so I thought I’d ask for the current status quo.

My daughter is taking a class trip to WDW in Feb. According to the literature sent home with her, the park tickets are YES tickets.

I am assuming that these tickets still cannot be upgraded to APs?

They could not be upgraded this past April.
Tried, almost had a CM force it through, then
A supervisor stopped it...boo...
