We visited Disney in 2011 and had the opportunity to participate in the YES program. At that time the tickets were paper, and we didn't have to submit a fingerprint. It's my understanding that tickets are no longer paper and new scanners have been installed. I just wondered if they now scan members of the yes program. I completely understand the logic behind the scanning and don't mind being scanned, but I really don't like for my kids to be.

It isn't a fingerprint, but yes, YES tickets require the finger scan. We attended a YES class in January and did. It caused an issue for one family because they just grabbed 2 tickets and didn't mark down who was who.

We just went in July, and yes, they make you scan your finger. They also were taking pictures of everyone and you had to match not only the photo but also the fingerprint to get in the gates. When we first picked up the tickets, the lady asked us to choose one per person and write their names on it in her presence before we left. Then at the gate, they took the photo and did the fingerprint to activate the tickets. Each time we entered, they had to match photo and fingerprint before they let us in.

What is your issue regarding your kids?

I just don't want it done and I'm not going to get into that. I'm not the only person that feels that way. That was one of the perks I liked about the program. I'm unsure if your question was an attempt to engage me in some type of debate. I realize how electronic/written communication can be taken out of context, so I'm just going to let it go at that.

WOW.....they've really gotten strict, but that happens when people take advantage of certain situations. So they took a picture of everyone or just the one person that was chosen.

Calm down....just a question as I don't see what could possibly be wrong with having it done to your kids.

But as you're the parent you can decide if you think its good or bad.....was just curious as to what harm you thought could be done by it.

We were not fingerscanned last year. We were told to put our finger in the scanner several times, but the green light came on before we did, so we didn't do it. Even some CMs didn't quite understand how it worked for the YES tickets.

I don't know about this year.

They took a picture of each of us. We had 5 day tickets and on day 3 or 4 my DD's photo dropped out of their system for some reason and we had to get it redone. They checked all the rest of us through and made her stay there and do it again. It was a pain, and seemed like their machines were really causing trouble every day they were there, holding up the lines.

I'm certainly not an expert on these things, and I know they don't release all the details of how the biometric works, but last time we had annual passes, it seemed the biometric was actually just measuring the length of the finger not fingerprint as hubby and I who have similar size hands, got ours mixed up and it didn't kick out.

Not a fingerprint. Yes they now scan.

Our yes tickets are hard cards. Where do they put a picture?

We were there in August with YES tickets. When we picked them up, each of us were told to sign the cards at the ticket window. They were the credit card type plastic tickets, not the tyvec paper ones we've gotten in previous years. There were no photos involved for our family of five. On arrival at the parks, the tickets were tapped on the new mickey-head green light scanners, no feeding the ticket through a device. We still did the finger scan though while tapping the card.

Thanks:)

As a AP holder (I live near Orlando), I just wanted to tell you what I have witnessed. EVERYONE has their finger scanned in order to enter the parks. We still use the paper tickets (quite sure that will change once we renew our passes) but we have seen plenty of guests w/the bracelets (& yes they have to scan their finger too).

Hope that helps :goodvibes
