I've had a passport for over 30 years and have used it many, many times. Yesterday DH, DD, and DGD and I came home from a vacation in Canada and it was so easy just handing the four passports over for ID at the border when asked. Sure we could have used driver licenses or birth certificates but this was so simple. Wouldn't be without it!
We have passports this time we had to buy one for our 11 year old daughter too. we have been to america in october 2001 and then it was good to have my daughter in my paspoort after 9/11 even children have to have their own. We always needed one we are from the netherlands and won't get in your beautifull country if we don't have them.
Yes, all 3 of us have them. Our DD had hers when she was only 1 yr in preparation for our Wonder trip in 03. It's much better to carry a passport than carrying a BC.
Childrens are not good for as long because their faces change more rapidly than ours do. Just renewed the Pookie's and man although I get to keep it, I'll miss using her old one, it was just too cute.
I agree with just feeling safer having one, isn't that strange how having that makes us feel safe???
We're also in the "not yet, but planning to soon" category. Neither myself, husband or 18-month old daughter had them in 2003 on our first DCL trip, but we certainly want to next year. For security and just for fun!
I've had mine since I was 19 for some traveling I did in college, and I renewed it in 02, however DH just got his for the first time in 2002. He didn't need it for our 4-night DCL cruise back then, but we decided it was the easiest form of ID to have for any out of mainland USA travel, and he does need it now for work, so it is good he has it!
Adults & eldest DS does. Youngest son doesn't & we're not getting his for the 2006 cruise. Since the kids ones only last for 5 years, we'll wait until we need them.
Just got it...haven't used it yet but will for upcoming February cruise. Was also hoping to join hubby on a trip to the Middle East in November so I would have used it then, but things have come up so doesn't look like I'll make that trip.
I've had one ever since my family moved to Saudi Arabia when I was 12. I've just renewed it on expiration (or name change). DH got his while on active duty, and we got them for the kids before a trip to Turks & Caicos two years ago. I think we'll probably keep their passports current so it's never a consideration when I'm planning one of those last-minute glorious European vacations.....(yeah, right, but at least we'll have them no matter where we decide to go or when!)
