Does anyone know if there are any more hurricanes on the way to florida?
I checked the hurricane site-but I am new to it and not sure if I was looking in the right spots.
I didn't see any--but don't want to get my hopes up if I am reading it wrong.
Thanks

Grover, Don't worry! There aren't any fresh ones on their way, and the end of September coincides with the slowing down of Hurricane season (once that Sun dips down below the Equator, the oceans off West Africa start to cool down and Coreolus force takes over, stopping the generation of new Hurricanes, as Prof Hirschfeld of McGill's Meteorology department explained when I was taking his class). Hurricane season still lasts into November in theory, but October is much slower than August and September. As the ocean stands currently, we have one named storm in the Atlantic, Lisa, and she is headed north in mid-ocean, not headed anywhere toward land. I expect you should be OK for the next couple of weeks; just keep watching the map off West Africa and the mid-Atlantic.

Really, you should be fine. We'll just hope the excellent CMs who take care of us when we're all there haven't suffered too badly.

Good luck!

Hurricane season runs until the end of November. There are no hurricanes brewing at this point.

Hurricane Opal hit in october, she was a real stinker, but nothing like IVAN. Remember the season doesn't end till end of nov., just be prepared. My saying is prepare for worst, hope for best when it comes to hurricane season.
good luck! I hope for all of us here Jeanne will be the last for season. I keep hearing about trop.storm Lisa out in atlantic, i haven't had time to go to noaa yet. maybe she has fizzled!!!!

The Weather channel just mentioned Tropical Storm Lisa. She was a depression. Right now she is just milling around the Atlantic with no land nearby. The weatherman couldn't say where she was going or when. I am hoping she goes somewhere else besides Florida. We are leaving on Saturday and hope the weather will be nice.
