Year of the Mouse continues....Dec Trip WE'RE BACK!!

I followed your siggie over here from my report. You are on the ball girl. Way to work the numbers and dates to get what you want. I think I am going to have to try my hand at Fuzzy Disney math. I like it much better than the everyday numbers don't lie and the truth is killin me math. It's awesome that your DH is on board for Disney. My DH jumped from the boat a long time ago and refuses to even float behinde on the dingy.
looking forward to more.

Isn't it funny that all of the folks reading each other's reports have "Mouse" in the title?? You don't even see that that often around here....

First of all, the dingy line is probably he funniest thing that will ever be said on this thread. :rotfl2:

And, I am lucky that DH and I fell in love with WDW at the same time. I enjoyed my few trips before as a youngster, but it was experiencing it with DH that really did it for me.

We both agree that WDW can be more for adults than for kids sometimes, you just have to believe in the magic.

I just finished reading your PTR. It looks like you've made some really good plans. We are going to DW Sept. 22-30 with the free dining plan and I'm seriously thinking about upgrading our tickets to APs once we get there. If we do upgrade we will probably go again around December 8th, to get the free dining card, and to see the Christmas decorations. I may even go again in the beginning of Jan. to celebrate our 13 year anniversary. Of course that would be a surprise to my DW. Anyway, I look forward to reading your reports.

I had the afternoon off yesterday, so I thought I'd go on a hunt for Disney clothes. We live in a small town, so no Disney store for us. I'd purchased some things from Disney Shopping .com, but their definition of small and mine are two totally different things, so we'll be returning those in Orlando next (!!!) weekend.

So, off to Ross I went. It's a discount store that carries close outs, and I had found my Mickey shirt (featured in the first post) there a few months ago, so I thought I'd try again.

Jackpot! :woohoo: They had 4 shirts, all from Disney, all for only $7! I only picked up two, but I love them, and they're not designs I've seen before. I'm a little leary of wearing the lime green one, as it's not a color I'd normally sport, but I figure it's a way to show some DIS love, and I LOVE the design on it.

This is the month I'm going to Disney!!!! :cool1:  :cheer2:

Just excited September is finally here :cool1: :cool1:

We're going tomorrow!!! :cool1:  :yay: :yay:

Here is what I still have to do:

1. Have DH vacuum the floors :)

2. Pull everything together for the dog sitter...which reminds me, I need to....

3. ...post pics of the pups because a) they're adorable, if I do say so myself and b) we really do miss them while we're with Mickey

3. Pack!! The guest room has the stuff that I don't use every day, but think I need to take with us, so it's already got a small pile. Including the used ponchos we had to pick up at the $1 Store this weekend when the high school football game turned into a flash flood.

4. Pack! I just have to remind myself twice to do this.

5. Charge the camera battery and download the memory card so it's empty.

I'm sure there are million other things too..I'll just add them as I think of them.

I love those shirts!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only One Day Left!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am dancing for you:

:jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1:

LastPrincess -- thanks for sticking with me -- you may be the sole reader, but I promise to keep writing!

So, we had to come up with a new plan, after I started thinking over this Bama football game, etc. Here's the newest:

Tomorrow (!!!!!)
Still the same, leave town ridiculously late, hope they have a decent room available at ASMo when we arrive at 1am.

Sept. 8th
Ecpcot for opening ceremony. We've never seen one!
Boardwalk for Bama game.
I may go swim at the hotel during this, or hit Epcot by myself.
Afternoon at Epcot. We may hop the monorail to the MK for a peek before closing, because I can't imagine not seeing it on my first day there!
8:00 PM ADRs at Raglan Road.
Evening at DD - we like the shops on the Disney side. Maybe hit PI, we'll see how we feel.

Sept 9th:
MGM for the morning. Hopefully willl catch opening ceremony.
Afternoon at pool OR mini golf
ADR at O'hanas at 6:00 PM
Evening EMH at MK. VERY excited for this -- we love being in the MK late at night. Wish that they were open later in September because one of the coolest things in the world is being the only two people in Adventureland at 2am in the morning.

Sept 10th:
MK for opening ceremony -- I'm determined to see it this time!
12:00 ADRs at Plaza Restaurant
MK until it's time to leave.

We left out AK this trip after reorganizing. Last trip we tried to do EMH there and we got in a small tiff when my need to ride rides and DHs need to just wander around collided. So we thought we'd leave it until December.

I can't believe it's tomorrow -- I need to get going on that To Do list!

Nervous about bad reviews O'Hana's has had lately, but DH will love anything that involves the words "all you can eat" and "meat" in the same arena.

...And Fire! Don't forget the fire!! It adds an element of danger to the experience! :lmao: (That's why most men hate to cook, but love to grill....Meat...Fire...Danger!!!

Seriously, though, we've got ressies for 'Ohana for the first time, too. I'm never worried about a few bad reviews...everyone's expectation level is different and any restaurant can have an "off" night. ;)

Love your bargain shirts, especially the Lime Green one! Be prepared to see lots of DIS-ers. (I'm watching you) :grouphug:

Have a safe journey and an awesome trip!!

Kathy

Enjoy your trip, and when you get back you will be that much closer to your Christmas trip. Will you do a trip report from this trip?

Definitely!! It's almost hard to focus on this trip because I am so excited about the Christmas one -- writing a trip report will make me focus on this trip while I'm there :)

We're back!! We had a FANTASTIC time! I am constantly surprised at how much fun and magic you can fit into two and a half days.
:cool1:

I am going to do a trip report shortly, once I catch up on work. I think I'll start it in a new thread and keep this one for the December trip...if the December trip is happening. More to come on that!

 The December trip might not happen? :sad1: Now I am all in suspense here. Don't keep us waiting too long.

Glad your mini trip to the world was fantastic, looking forward to reading the TR.

Ok, so I've officially started my September Trip Report (link in signature below), meaning this is now my official December pre-trippie. I guess it could also be my September 2008 pre-trippie, because, yes, we booked the bounceback for free dining. Oops :) :cool1: :cool1:

Sorry to leave you hanging, but it looks like December is definitely going to happen :santa: , although it was suspect for a few days. One day at Disney, my calendar-challenged husband said something offhand about "having to be at graduation the first weekend in December for some of his students" and I not so offhandedly said "tell me it is not the same weekend as our Disney trip." We didn't have computer access at the hotel, so I had to wait until we got home Monday night to check the calendar. Yep, same weekend. Ugh!

Good news though, I was able to push us back a weekend, and in doing so, was able to book AKL for three consecutive nights, instead of two reservations. So that's the good news. The bad news is, we will have about a day shorter there, due to some vacation scheduling, but I still think we'll be fine. I'll post more updates about Dec soon (and details on Sept 08), but I am now going to return to my Sept. trip report. Is anyone else's head spinning yet??

So, I made some progress on the December trip today (although some would argue I should concentrate on my September trip report first...)

The week of our September trip, I broke down and paid the $65 for the AP holder's Dining Experience Card -- 20% at most sit down restaurants in the resort. I figured we'd recoup our money after $300 in spending AND you get free valet parking which will come in handy at AKL.

We used it several times last week, even though we were on the dining plan. It covers alcohol, which I think makes it worth it and we whipped it out quite a few times to do just that.

So, instead of all counter service, like we have done in the past on non-dining plan trips, we will be able to eat sit down meals and I won't feel sick at the cost. And, I fully intend to take advantage of the valet deal :) Plus, we have the $75 dining card and a $40 Visa card I got for referring someone to Sprint that has been stuck in my Disney file since I received it

So, I asked DH where he'd like to eat, looked through some things on my own, and this is the plan I have for December

14th
Arrival in late evening, stay off property

15th
Check into AKL early AM. Tell DH we are going to Boma for breakfast so I can get him to the hotel.
9:30 AM Boma Reservation
Spend day looking at decorations at various resorts.
8:20 PM O'Hana's Reservation (more details to come in Sept. trip report, but DH LOVED it!)
MK is open until 1 AM

16th
Morning/Afternoon Animal Kingdom
May try to fit in Taste of Africa Tour at AKL
7:00 PM 50's Primetime Reservations (this is the only place DH asked for a reservation)
EMH at MGM

17th
I think we'll spend the afternoon and early evening at Epcot, enjoying Holidays around the world, and definitely seeing the tree lighting
No dinner ressies -- probably counter service because I think you can get the best quality and quantity for your money in the World Showcase
Over to MK for EMH

18th
Head home :(

I'm pretty excited to try two new TS locations, and just as excited to have O'Hana's again -- it was yummy!

Hey there, just started your pre-trip report and now I realize I'll have to go check out your Sept trip report as well!! :D I'm so jealous you got to go so many times this year! I hope someday I can match it :)
