Year of a Million Dreams 2009?

I was wondering when the 2009 theme and prices will be announced.
And what are the chances Year of a Million Dreams will continue for a third year. I love Disney and would continue to go back regardless, but I would love to see a huge change for 2009!

The rumor floating around the internet since February has been that the 2009 promotion will be called "Magical Celebrations" and will be targeted towards getting people to visit Disney Parks to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, family reunions, honeymoons, graduations, etc. But nothing has been officially announced by Disney, so at this point anything's possible.

We didn't get to go to Disney this year, but we did last year. I'd personally love to see YOMD again next. We got to Dream FP's during our 2 1/2 week trip and it was so special and magical.

Well we are going over our anniversary in 2009 so maybe if this is true we will get some magic!

I to have heard the same thing. It could be whoever is celebrating a birthday or anniversary or whatever in Disney maybe they will get dreams granted if they see those who are wearing pins. Since its obvious that really cant resort going back to not creating dreams and magical moments anymore, because if they do, that could end up hurting their business. I mean lets face it. Disney attendance went up when YOAMD started all because everyone had hopes they would win something. And with the way gas and food prices are going up, Disney NEEDS some kind of an incentive to give to people to have them keep coming back. And having people come down during their birthday, anniversaries, etc and giving them something would be just the ticket they need. They may even continue giving away dreams to those who arent celebrating something. Disney really started something with YOAMD. And it would be hard to stop giving away magical moments and dreams. They would either have to continue to do so or do something that tops giving away dreams. Just like with DL 50th Anniversary. One way to pull people in was to bring in rides and shows from other Disney Parks. Once they brought those shows and rides to WDW, they couldnt just get rid of them after the celebration was over. They had to stay, except for the Castle Show.

I would hope their would be some kind of dreams given away also. You can't just give it away to ones celebrating since all you have to do is ask for a pin currently, the only way to "prove" an anniversary is to bring your wedding license.

I think they will have no problem returning to not giving out dreams because the majority of people (I would say around 90%) have no idea of the promotion. I base that on the 6 times I've won dream fastpasses and seen the puzzled looks on peoples faces. I usually approach people that have won and ask them where and when they won - I say where did you win that hat/fastpass/laynard, and many say, "I didn't win it, they were just handing them out"!!!! I always get a kick out of that.

Did you see the family who won the castle stay on "Disney on Demand"? I've seen more excitement from someone getting a free balloon! If it was me my family would be going insane!
