Hi Guys,
Had a final farewell disco tonight for DD (11) and her year 6/7 pals before they start 'big' school next week. Our primary school is in our village and kids from a neighbouring village attend it too. However, when they get to senior level our village kids go off to one big school and the other village kids go to another - stupid after 7 years together, apparently the catchment cut off is the A19 and we're one side of it and they're at the other side!
Her friends mum and I planned this before they finished school as there's only 19 of them in the year group they've all been quite close. 4 of them couldn't attend due to holidays, but the others have had a great time, the highlight being a chocolate fountain we managed to borrow - fantastic!!! Would say its too much hassle for a quick choc fix at home (easier to melt it in microwave!) but well worth it for a party or special occassion.
So I suppose I officially have a year 7 girl now, its passed far too quickly. Have to get uniforms and PE kit sorted before wednesday for her.
The only real obstacle is getting DS 8 to school on tuesday when DD gets an extra lie in!!
Sparks will fly...
