That's a great price you got Jodie. How does DLRP compare to WDW - or can you not even begin to compare the 2? Have often thought about taking our DS there as I think he's too young for the whole WDW thing but know that he'd love Disney.

I loooove DLRP. Perhaps it is because it was my first Disney Park or maybe because it is a lot smaller therefore a lot less intimidating.

How old is your son? If you think he is too young for Orlando I would def' give DLRP a go with him. All the magic at a fraction of the price!

Daniel is almost 3. It isn't that I think he's too young for Orlanod, it's just that I don't think he's up to the whole travelling/jet lag thing and DH and I would find it very restrictive.

But I have mentioned to DH about the possibility of taking him to DLRP and he is not keen (I think because he reckons it will be rubbish compared to WDW). I'll show him your comments, though, and try to persuade him. I think it might be nice to take Daniel for his birthday in November.

Joh, come and join us on the DLP board.
I've never been to WDW but according to others it is good for a Disney fix.
Many say that some of the attractions are better :)

We went to DLP for the first time in July 04 after 3 WDW trips and if I'm honest continually compared it to WDW. If he goes with that in mind he won't enjoy it, that's speaking from experience! When I got back I shared my negative opinions with people on this board, where there were some in agreeance but most weren't.
This year we took my DF & DM and we had an amazing time, I went with an open mind.
Yes it has its faults, don't we all, but if you look at it for what it is, Disney in Europe, we are not the same as the Americans we have a different slant.
When you look at the rides, POTC is better in DLP, so is Space Mountain, Phantom Manor is the same as Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Railroad is better in DLP.
Yes there can be the language barrier, that can also be fun, and yes it's in France but it only takes a cpl of hours.
We drove down, stayed overnight on the way down but drove solidly on the way back, left DLP at 12 and got back to Gloucestershire @9pm but that was due to horrendous traffic on the M25 and 2 accidents on the M4.
If your DH reads this I'd say go, we'll be taking DF & DM again next year.

In that case I would definitely say take him to DLRP.

We'd never been there because I always wanted to go to WDW first. We went for our first time this August having taken the risk of already booking for Christmas before we'd been. We went with an open mind and absolutely loved it. Disney is Disney full stop. WDW will always be my first love because it is the four parks plus Seaworld plus Busch plus Discovery Cove plus Universal etc etc but we also loved DLRP, the castle and park are much prettier than WDW and the cast members were all fantastic, contrary to what you often hear.

Think that they are doing special deals for November so it might work out quite cheap!:teeth:
