I had to share my excitement with some people who would understand. My DD is 20 months old. She's been watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on car trips since she was about a year. So she's known the classic characters which has always tickled me pink. (We went to Disney when she was 12 months and 18 months and I cried a few times when she interacted with the characters.)
Anyway I sewed a Cinderella costume for her that she wore to CRT for her first birthday lunch. I made it so that I was able to let out the hem and some seams so she could wear it for Halloween. We don't watch TV with her but she was sick the other day so I put in Cinderella and snuggled up with her to watch it. It's the first thing she's watched other than Mickey in the car. I wasn't sure if she'd sit still but she did. And it clicked!!!! She now says "Rella! Rella!" whenever we see something with Cinderella on it at a store. Today we went to have her picture taken in her costume. When I brought it out to put the dress on she was so excited and started saying "I Rella! I Rella!" The entire way through the mall she kept telling strangers, " I Rella! I Rella!" I was so proud. I'm happy that she's happy to be Cinderella and gets it and that it's not just me excited about the costume.
