Ye Be Walkin the Plank Quest 3/22/08

Not sure why there would be an expectation not to shoot the other team unless you were playing a pre-agreed "no shooting" game. It IS pirates, after all.

You mention that you have never received a treasure key. You get a bronze key after 3 wins. If you play a little bit each day, you will get better and earn your wins quicker than you can believe. It takes practice to get good at something. The more you play, the better you will become.

When we first started the quest there was no amount stated to advance. But I was pretty sure if you at least got the flag once and lost then you could go on. So it said teamwork and was trying to help the other team at least once we had one. We won the first game. And were going to win again so there was no need to shoot the player is was just mean.

And thus is why I am princess littlebelle and do not hang in the pirates lobby. Except for a few dis people I know that I know are polite pirates. To me the pirate games is just a place to be rude and obnoxious

Also I want to reach out to VirtuallyME I was awful at pirates so bad that people remember Capecad the best beta player in VMK when VMK started. He was kind enough to try and help me get from first level to second level.

We are talking about a guy that basically won every game until he teamed up with me. We lost every game.

If you computer is slow and lag is bad pirates is one of the worst games to play. Not only do you feel bad because you can not move (and that happened to me many times today) you have players saying you stink you lose her etc.

So why would anyone who is not good at pirates ever want to practice to get better at a game that causes this rudeness.

Well, I do agree that you were being very kind to try to help the other team. However, it is possible that the people you were playing with were not doing the quest and trying to get more points by shooting the other team. This is not being mean. It's making credits.

I just don't see shooting others in a pirate game as being "rude and obnoxious." That's the game. You make more credits by shooting others. It's what you are supposed to do.

So why would anyone who is not good at pirates ever want to practice to get better at a game that causes this rudeness.

Well, I guess to try to be one of those who adds to the "not rude" players. And I have had many a harsh word said to me in ghosts as I struggle to move or can't turn back other or whatnot. Sorry you had a rough time in the pirate seas.

I do have to hand it to Lily for being kind enough to make it an incredibly low score to procede with the task... I played a few mules and it wasn't horrible- I even captured one or two flags- and my last time through I played with some DIS people- I did accidently boot someone before starting- and got chastised in the game for it- I really didn't do it on purpose- just hit the mouse pad at the wrong time in wrong spot.

I know one game I played my team never touched the flag- we were dead in the water long before we went anywhere- lol but I still advanced... so maybe it was just "play" the game

I did see some rude players- not because they were playing the game (shooting me) I certainly wasn't playing to win- I had one time when I told the person- they could win if they'd just let one person on our team have the flag when they got to their home- and they said- you are just trying to cheat I'll report- lol- but there were a few other comments that I won't repeat here though in some games- that I don't like.

I was never good at old pirates though- I just can't do the shooting- and the new one I am really bad at-

To my partner who asked..."Why didn't you tell me you stink?" ...Well, you didn't ask, did you?

And even the lamest can improve with practice. I have now actually twice carried the flag and successfully won a round! I've won a few games too, but that was completely by accident, and to the credit of my teammates.

Oh, and just what do they mean by the last task? The quests will be getting longer?! lol Does this mean we crash even more? I figure i'm taking too long now. lol

She means she's adding questions each time she reopens the quest...it's been like 6 times so far this month, and each time there's something new added. Like this weekend, the new thing was playing pirates, quest was essentially the same as last week's up until that point.
