YC to MK - How Long?

We (DW, DS8, DS6) are considering changing our CR Tower Club reservations to the YC Concierge for our trip to WDW in May. My biggest concern is how long it takes to get from YC to MK, where we will probably be spending most of our time. How long does it take by bus? Where else does the bus stop on its way. We had a really bad experience in 2002 with the bus from the Poly to DTD (over an hour). I really wish WDW would improve its transportation system. The great thing about the CR is that it is it being walking distance to MK. The thing we do not like is the pool. Please help us decide. Thanks, Jay

May should be less busy and not a big problem. I beleive it picks up at YC, then BC then BW and on to MK. At Christmas we were at the BW and came out to the bus stop at 6:40 and they said the bus had not come in 20 minutes-that may have meant the bus filled at BC and went to MK. Couple minutes later a bus came empty to BW and went straight to MK so to us it was an great experience-about 10 minutes total to MK from arriving at the bus stop. I also think it stops at Swan, Dolphin then YC coming back. We have been down enough that we come back from MK on the monorail through EPCOT for a change of pace, but if you stay at MK until close-you cant do that because EPCOT will be closed. Overall the YC would be well worth a few minutes wait to MK compared to CR because of SAB, walk to EPCOT, boat to MGM, Beaches and Cream, BW shops, and just a beautiful resort in general. Have fun.

Busses stop at Swan/Dolphin, Yacht Club, Beach Club, then BoardWalk. The actual driving time to Magic Kingdom is about 20 minutes or so after all the stops. We, however, had to wait over ½ hour for the bus to come on early entry day.

If you're planning on spending most of your time at the MK, stay at the CR. The transportation to/from the Epcot resorts, can be VERY spotty. Waits of up to 30 minutes for a bus to/from the parks isn't uncommon. We stayed at BC last summer and will continue the torture by staying at BW this summer. We are staying at GF before the BW, so we'll try to get most of our MK time in then, to avoid the dreaded buses from the Epcot resorts. From the YC, if you get there AS SOON as the bus arrives, you're talking about 20 - 30 minutes to MK. The bus after YC stops at BC and them BWV before starting the drive over. Any bus waiting time will be added to the above times. On the way back, the same time 20 - 30 minutes, once the bus leaves MK. Remember it's a 5 - 10 minute walk back to CR from MK and a VERY short monorail ride if tired.

Thanks for the information. Just what I feared about staying at the YC. Did anyone ever have a problem with getting a seat on these trips. I can understand problems at peak times when the parks are closing, but how about other times. I really think Disney should rethink their transportation particularly for the Deluxe Resorts. We pay a lot of money to stay there and to have to spend precious time waiting and standing on an overcrowded bus is rediculous. Again thanks for the info. Jay

I've had problems getting a seat a 2PM!!!! Once at what you would consider an off time, we didn't even get on the first bus, don't even get me started on park closing...... Since the bus route YC is on services so many resorts, the line can get long rather quickly. Last summer, we always were talking about how the S/D/YC/BC/BW line was ALWAYS long, and every other resort had little to no people waiting.
