Yacht Club or Beach Club? What's your preference and why? :D

I think they are both nice. YC is a little more "fancy"... lots of dark wood and estate type furnishings. BC is bright and cheery. Lots of pastels, boats, etc. You really can't go wrong either way... it's just personal taste. ;)

Thanks-- we're indecisive becuase all we really care about is the POOL!! I think we are leaning toward Beach Club at this point...

I have heard that the BC is a little more kid friendly. Have a great trip!

Maybe I am WAY off here, but here's a shot.

I have never stayed at either, but wandering through the lobbies I get the impression that the Yacht Club is more like staying on a cruise ship and Beach Club is more the Beach vacation (imagine that given the naming).

Anyone care to chime in and agree or disagree that has stayed at either or both?

Something to consider - balconies. At BC, not all balconies are full size. Some are just little single-person-standing-areas, for a lack of a better description. Some rooms do have full size balconies as well. At YC, all rooms have full size balconies.

Just some info I received from WDW guest services
(email) - Stormalong Bay refurb are on schedule
and all refurbs to room should be done by Mar 31/03.

We've stayed at the Beach Club, but not at the Yacht Club. Quite honestly, I'm not sure which I'd choose next time. :)

I've stayed at both. I prefer the BC, the atmosphere just seems much more inviting to me, and I prefer the decor. The BC decor made me feel like I was on vacation, the YC seemed more suitable for a business trip to me. And I've also cruised on DCL, and didn't find the YC to be anything like that...in fact I got off the Magic last summer and checked into the YC, so I had a pretty good comparision. :) I definitely preferred the cruise!

Last October we stayed at YC water view with four-year old and my parents stayed at BC standard view.
They got bumped to concierge b/c of the remodeling!

YC seems less hectic/noisy b/c BC has Stormalong Bay directly below as well as all the shops, arcade, eating places, kids club etc...
Seems to be less kids at YC and quieter.

Definitely agree-If it's adults or older children Yacht Club
is quieter
If you have children, BC is more laid back.

Have not stayed at the Beach Club, but I did spend a night at the Yacht Club and wouldn't again. It was too stuffy for our taste. But we did love Stormalong Bay!

we definately prefer the YC. even DS & DD (12yo & 16 yo while at the YC, 10 & 14 at the BC) liked the more adult, less noisy, atmosphere of the YC.
both are beautiful IMHO, we just found the YC more quiet, refined, and, importantly, attentive to the oft forgotten "older" kidlets.
all depends on the age on your children, & what your family looks for in a resort.

We will have DS5 with us and I think he may prefer a more "kid-friendly" environment. I saw the YC on the travel channel and it looked very nice, but as suggested, a little stuffy. Thanks for all the tips and help-- DISers are the GREATEST!:Pinkbounc

We stayed at the YC a few months ago and really liked it. We walked through the BC and even though I like the colors there more I do prefer the YC because it's a little less hectic then the Beach Club seems.

We also had our 5 and 8 year old with us.

Which one is closer to the little bridge that hooks to the Epcot walk way ????

BC is closer to Epcot, but not by that much. We stayed at the YC in November, and just loved it. The walk to Epcot was very pleasant, and not very long at all :D !

We haven't stayed at the BC, but prefer the decor at the YC - it's our favorite WDW resort! The newly renovated rooms are really nice, and we didn't find the resort stuffy at all.
