Hi all

Im stuck between choosing the Yacht Club or the Beach Club. Can I get some opinions? Im going with my boyfriend and we want to have lots of fun. Which is better?

Thanx x

They are both beautiful resorts. Yacht Club is a little more "refined" with dark woods and darker colors in the lobby. Fewer little kids overall at the Yacht Club. Beach Club is lighter and cheerier, lots of kids. You share the same main pool (Stormalong Bay - gorgeous). Beach Club is closer for walking into Epcot. I think you would enjoy either. Good Luck deciding!

I like YC better then BC even thought I have never stayed at BC. I don't have young kinds or kids at all for a fact so after reading about BC I choose either YC or BWI. You will have fun no mateter what one you go to. Have a FUNtastic time :D

I vote for the Yacht Club b/c you will have a full sized balcony with your room. At the Beach club only some rooms have those. The restaurant in YC..Yachtsman Steakhouse is very grown up. You will love either and they are practically attached to each other, but I know you'll feel a little more romantic at the YC...also give the Boardwalk Inn a thought. Never stayed there, but it looks romantic and is in the heart of the fun. Have a great time!

Of the two I liked the Yacht Club better, but in my opinion you can't go wrong with either!

Not practically - they are actually attached to each other. One of my favorite places at WDW is the place where the two hotels come together and the blue of the BC switches over to the taupe (grey?) of the YC.

As others have said, though, both are great and you can't go wrong with either. We usually stay at YC, but intend to try BC in near future.

Don't be surprised though - while there may be (or at least it may seem like) there are more kids at the BC, there are lots and lots of kids at the YC too, so don't stay at YC thinking you will be able to get away from kids.

I have stayed at both the Yacht and Beach Club. It really is all about taste. They both have the same amenities. As far as balconies, they are both set up similiarly. There are various sizes of balconies at both resorts. This includes small, regular and large (shared). The small balcony is big enough for one person to stand on and that's all. The regular sized balcony is large enough for 2 people to sit or a family of 4 to stand. The large balcony is large enough for about 12 people but it is shared between 3 rooms. I have actually had this balcony and really enjoyed it. (partly b/c there was no one in the other rooms!) The Yacht Club is very refined. It makes me want to wear white pants and deck shoes. It's classy has these beautiful hardwood floors that you can practically see yourself in. The Beach Club is all pastel, recalling a New England Seaside resort. They are both beautiful resorts and were both renovated about 6 months ago. Either would be a good choice. I personally prefer the Yacht b/c I am a princess and like to be pampered.
My advice? Look at the pictures of the rooms on the website (they are the new rooms) and go with your gut instinct.

I don't think you'll love either I think its one or the other myself. YC is dark and adult feeling stuffy almost IMHO- we ate there and could not wait to get back to our light airy welcoming "Cape Type" BC! We don't care for YC and would never stay there yet BC is our favorite..... well POLY... oh I digress! All this is stated respectfully to all those YC lovers above:p

Hi, we've only stayed at the BC, but have walked around in the YC. We prefer the cheerfulness and kind of happy-go-lucky colors and atmosphere of the BC. Kind of matches our magical mood when we're there. ;) When I'm at the YC, I feel like I have to walk sedately, and speak in low, refined tones! :(

Whichever you pick, you'll have a lovely time, I'm sure!

It really IS all personal taste - my extended family and I stay at YC/BC, and half of us stay at the Yacht Club and the other half the Beach Club!

I myself prefer the Yacht Club...and as others have said, it seems like there are less kids there. It just seems a little more adult and refined somehow. But for a couple, the biggest selling point of the Yacht Club for me would be the balcony or patio! They are big, every room has one, and there's nothing like sitting out there with your morning coffee or a cocktail in the evening. Romantic and lovely.

But - as others have said - they are basically the same hotel with different theming on each side (not really - they have separate lobbies and check-in.) Either one is an excellent choice for the proximity to Epcot, the Boardwalk, and MGM. You'll love it - lots of nightlife, restaurants, etc.

If you go to allearsnet.com, there are pictures and fact sheets about both (although the Beach Club rooms have been redone and I'm not sure the site has new pix.)

Have SO MUCH FUN!

We were ***so*** disappointed that we had missed out on the AP discounts at the Beach Club last Thanksgiving, we reluctantly took Yacht Club instead. My DS5 pirate-to-be pirate: was THRILLED with the nautical themes, model boats, etc. and we liked having a real balcony. We overlooked the quiet pool and we didn't notice any shortage of small children. ;)

As others have said, you still get the amazing SAB and can walk over to Cape May for the character breakfast (though next time I think we'll rent a surrey bike -- its a long way from one side of the YC to the other side of the BC). OTOH, the dock to Epcot and MGM was very convienent right outside the YC lobby doors.

Anyway, don't discount the YC as being too refined. We thought it was just right. It would be our first pick the next time we stay at an Epcot resort.
