We were going to go to Epcot today but just didn't feel up to dealing with a park so decided to do a little swimming in SAB.
We had breakfast in the lounge-bagels, cereal, fruit. They also had donuts, danish, oatmeal, coffee cake, etc. I was standing in near the bagels and a woman walked in with a bag on her shoulder and took about 20 peices of bread from the basket and stuffed them in her bag after looking around to make sure noone was looking. They also had little peanut butter containers and jelly and I think she took what was left of those. I guess I know what they were having for lunch that day.
We noticed other children drinking chocolate milk and the concierge said that they keep it in the fridge along with juice boxes. All you have to do is ask for it.
SAB was nice. There is one section near the sand bar that looks like it could use some work. We didn't have a problem finding a chair and our kids enjoyed the little slide behind the ship.
The lifeguards were wonderful and really kept a good watch on everyone in the pool.
We were not asked to show room ID the first day and swam without being questioned.
We basically spent the day relaxing and exploring around the resort.
We were at the lounge for the 5-7 wine and cheese and they had macaroni and cheese, clams, fruit, cheese, crackers, breads with hummus-sp? and more that I can't remember. It was very filling.
I mentioned to the concierge that we had to cancel our Illuminations cruise the night before and she called the YC marina to see if they had any cancelations. They didn't at that time but called our room a short time later and said to be on the dock at 8:00 and we could go if anyone didn't show up. Then he said that if the other party they thought were going to be no-shows did show up that they would put us on the same boat and not charge us??
We were at the marina at 8 and had a very nice guide that talked to us about moving to Florida from Mass. and everything they went through starting over, etc. She took us around by MGM and the Boardwalk area and then parked under the bridge for Illuminations.
It was awesome!! I would have paid twice as much for it. It was very impressive and it felt like we were part of the action because we were so close. This is definately something we will be doing again.
I tipped her and thanked her for a great time. I think she came in on her night off or something so I wanted to make sure she knew we appreciated it.
We had dessert in the lounge and spent some more time on the balcony and went to bed.
We were thinking about trying Epcot tomorrow if we felt like it.
