YC/BC Redo?

Hi all,

Our trip is in 3 weeks and I was wondering if there will be renovations going on while we are here? We are staying YC CL and was hoping it would be redone by the time we got there.

Any info would be appreciated.

We'll be there mid August and have done lots of research on that subject, but other than some rooms having new flat screen TV's, no info on any rehabs.

The new TV's were just showing up in some rooms - there is a photo of one in a std room on the YC/BC thread.

We're hoping the resort wil not be showing too much wear and tear! Not a fan of worn out rooms at any Resort!

We are staying at the BC in August. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge the year they were doing to renovations on the rooms. We were lucky enough to get a newly done room there at the time.and the work was blocked off one floor at a time, so really, as far as the work being distracting, it wasn't at all. We have never stayed at the BC at all, so I don't care either way. If we have the current room design, fine - as long as it is CLEAN! If we get a newly done room, all the better - but again, my only concern is that it is clean!

The YC/BC rooms are very clean. Should we just note on the reservation for a new style room??

Actually Disney announced several weeks ago that the Boardwalk Inn, YC, and BC will be renovated in the near future. They've already started working on the rehab at the Boardwalk.

Walt Disney World begins a large refurbishment project covering several of its most popular on-site resorts. Renovations are scheduled to begin this summer at the Caribbean Beach Resort and Boardwalk Resort, followed later in the year with Beach Club, Yacht Club, Coronado Springs, and Wilderness Lodge Villas. The projects include total refurbishment of the guests rooms, including new carpet, wallpaper, paint and furniture.

I was told by the Yacht Club IPO planners no work being done on the Yacht Club until 2009 but they are working on the Beach Club now. MHO only

I'm going to ask my DU agent if she can find out anything. Also, Disney is pretty quick with these "soft goods" renovations. Hmmmmm, if it's true about BC, then I'm going to request a newly refurbed room. But I did hear that BW had already been started. So I won't get my hopes up too high.
