My teen son got his first "real" job today, so now I can save money since he won't be needing money from me anymore!

My son still occasionally asks for a small loan and then actually pays me back!!! What a feeling!

He did indeed get the job at a movie theater!

yeah... I am trying to get my son off his butt and get one. He has finally started applying. I had to withhold his licence until he gets one. Even that wont wake him up.

My brother, who's 18, is going to be working for his 6th summer at an amusement park (yup, he started at 13!). He has put most of his money away; his biggest purchases have been a laptop, an ITouch and his cell phone ($30/mo), all paid for 100% with his own money. You can bet he wouldn't have them now if he hadn't had his job all those summers!
