Yavn Speaks revised AGAIN today!!

Yavn Speaks has been revised again!

Interestingly, the "innovation and creativity" paragraph is now missing, including the "moving forward" quote from Walt. Could it be that our complaints about its misuse have been heard?

Also gone is any mention of their attempts to create a way to recognize our VMK friends on the other Disney virtual communities, as well as the warning about the sites that are popping up in an effort to keep the game alive.

I found out on another site that the changes were done at 2 different times today. Here was the breakdown-credit to Prisoner:



The first was around 10:25 VMK time today when they removed this paragraph:

Then, around 3pm VMK time, they removed these two paragraphs:

well we are guessing, but it sure seems they are reacting to all of us fans. It's a promising thing, like we have their attention.

Ink found out another interesting thing. The copy cat site has been completely changed- looks nothing like VMK. He is wondering if Disney put the heat on then to change it and did they put the heat on Disney to take out the blurb about other sites.

hmmm I dont know, I was talking to some friends and we drew a different conclusion. We looked at it as a bit more like a bait and switch. Like that was what their game was all about but they changed the look into getting a bunch of us to sign up for what looked like a game we were comfortable with.

Guess either is very possible.

I'm glad they took that out. Caving in to pressure slowly but surely. In my e-mail to everyone I could find who worked with the company I included things about that:
"And another thing, I am disgusted, completely disturbed that you would use Walt's own words to describe destroying thousands of people's fun. The quote about "Keep moving forward," does not say anywhere that you need to close the new doors you've opened. "
"If I recall, the member of VMK staff, Yavn, posted publicly that the removal of VMK Central in the parks would not signal its closing. I'm sorry, but to blatantly lie is an awful thing to do. I love Disney and everything about it, but when you stubbornly decide to close a game thousands love and use Walt's words to justify your horrific actions, you've taken it too far. "

I know. I'm over-dramatic.. but it gets the point across! It was an angrier letter than I intended it to be but I get swept up in the movement.

Edit: and I totally just realized the alliteration in my first quote.. disgusted and disturbed, describe and destroying

I think its a contract issue with Sulake (who I understand owns the rights to the program code that actually runs VMK). That explains the 6 week window - that is when the contract expires. The other site?? Maybe the new programers or company with the programming code Disney wants to use or by the license to. That other site maybe went public without permission and between contract talks and attorney offices they were shut down and nobody else (Yavn) is allowed to talk due to gag orders and tell us what is really going on.

I've thought about that for a while, and I hope that if that is the case, Disney will somehow reach an agreement with Sulake to keep running the game. Sulake already has Habbo, which seems like a pretty successful site.

So, about the conspiracy theory... Maybe Sulake is run by Bigfoot and staged the original moon landing?!
