yard sale pricing?

Hi guys! Having neighborhood yard sale this weekend. Have everything priced but clothes. Most of our clothes (adult sizes) are in good shape. At any rate, just wondering how I should price them. I want to sell them, so I would rather price low than have heap of clothes left over at end.

We have: shorts, tshirts for dh, shirts/dress shirts of mine, dress pants for both of us and also few dresses and sweaters.

Any tips? I know there has to be lots of yard sale fanatics here! Thanks in advance!

If you want things to go....

worn shorts, t-shirts etc - 50c

better pants, skirts, sweaters $1.00

excellent condition brand name clothing $2 - $3

I would group like items together. I usually put a sign up showing the "brand names" - it gets people's attention. I hang items on hangers - a broom handle hanging in garage doorway works great.

When I go to a yard sale--- I don't buy clothes that are more than $1.00. We have a village wide yard sale every August. Well, this is the first year we participated in a few years. I also had stuff from my mother and my sister. We marked everything pretty much rock bottom. We then went 1/2 price at 1pm (we started at 8am). I can tell you, we started w/ over 320 items. We had less than 20 left at the end of the sale. We did really well. We didn't mark any clothes over $1.00. My sister had beautiful dresses from the Bon Ton, Gao, and American Eagle. We just wanted to sell the stuff. In the end we made several hundred and we didn't have to lug the stuff back inside again.

Definitely hang them up and you can ask for the hangers back after people buy the clothes. It's much easier to buy what you see : )

I also go to garage sales and don't buy much over $2. Mark it down later on in the day.
