I could use some yard sale pricing help. I have searched the boards and see it has been discussed a lot, and I did get some good idea of what to price clothing, but I am struggling with some other things. My daughter's school is having a PTO yardsale next weekend and since we have decided not to have any more babies I figured it is time to get rid of the 4 years of baby and toddler clothes, gear and toys. Here are some of the things I planned on including, for some of these I have put a guess for the price, but let me know if you think I am way off:

Baby and Toddler clothes (no stains or holes, I threw those away....mostly Gymboree, Baby Gap, Carters, or nicer department store brands):

Onesies, t-shirts, plain cotten sleepers, shorts, bibs, hats, belts - .25

Pants and Jeans - .75-$1

Skirts - .75

Complete outfits - $1-$3

Nicer holiday dress $3-$4

Baby - Toddler shoes (Nike, Reebok, Sketchers, Stride Rite, Gymboree) $2 a pair

Pack n Play - $20???

Travel System (stroller, carseat, and base) - $50???

Umbrella Stroller - $5 ?

Baby Swing - $20???

Kolcraft lights, sounds, vibrations bassinet thing -$30???

Hard Cover books (mostly Nicholas Sparks and other best sellers) $1 each

Soft Cover books .50

VHS movies $1

DVDs $3

All of those I have kind of based on searching old topics on here, these things I am really stumped on how to price, online I keep seeing metion of toys should be priced at .25-1, but I don't think it means these kind of toys.

Toys like:

TMX Elmo (and other Elmos like Chicken Dance, Hokey Pokey, Pizza Time, Potty Elmo, Elmo Live)

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

Weebles Castle

Drop and Roar Dinosaur

Fisher Price Bounce and Spin Zebra

Corn Popper

Fisher Price Peek-a-blocks train

FP Peek-a-blocks pull behind elephant

Kids vacuum cleaner

Fisher Price Ball Popper

Talking Mickey Mouse with keyboard piano

Vtech Smile (I think that's what it's called, the baby video game system that hooks to the TV) with 2 games

PS2 (with 2 controllers and memory card)

Xbox 360 games (all the call of duty, james bond, bad company, halo, ect)

Baby books - like the bigger hard cover with mirrors or touch and feel and stuff

Halloween Costumes / Dress Up costumes, Disney Store Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Tinkerbelle, JoJo (from Jojo's circus), Tom Arma Black Cat (retails 59.99), witch, Minnie Pumpkin, baby Tigger

Swim Suits - baby toddler

Crib sheets

baby blankets

Toddler potty

Baby quilt, bumper pad, curtains, crib skirt, diaper holder ect

2 Hi 8 8mm cameras (1 Sony 1 Samsung, 1 purchased in the late 90's the other in like 2003...have charger cables batteries ect for both)

10MP Digital Camera Olympus (perfect condition, but I have an SLR and another point and shoot that goes underwater)

6MP Digital Camera (works fine but older and skuffed up)

Laptop as is - No charger.... It worked ok when I last used it a few years ago, but was getting slow.... I've since lost the charger so I can't guartentee it doesn't need repaired - I was thinking like $20 is that too much?

Men's Asics Tennis Shoes - Unused, new in box were like $125 or so each--- DH bought 2 pairs in the wrong size (he needed Extra Wide), but lost the reciept and never returned

Maternity Clothes

Diaper bags

CD players/ radios

Ok sorry I know that is a crazy lot to ask for help with, so feel free to offer advice on just a few. Thanks for all your help, I'm excited to finally get my garage and attic space back lol, but it would be nice to have a little extra cash in the Disney Cruise account.

That's a lot of stuff to donate to a PTO yardsale! You might want to think about having one yourself and donate the rest. I usually sold most of my kid's clothes (especially Gymboree) and lots of toys sell well.

Take the large items to your local baby consignment store and see what they offer to get an idea of the value. When our grandchildren were coming over from England we bought umbrella strollers (4 of them because I kept seeing better ones) for $1-2 each and later resold them for the same price. I got a mess of genuine Disney costumes, with accessories, for the same price as the strollers (you can see pictures of some of them if you look for my posts in the UK Community board)

First thing in the morning you should have the professional bottom feeders show up and offer prices on your electronics (I call them pros because unlike my wife and myself who are out shopping they are working, looking for stuff they can resell at a higher price). If you like the sound of what they offer, take it. If not at least you'll get an idea of what they are worth.

Enjoy your yard sale. We went to 4 today and more tomorrow. It's very light this weekend because people want to enjoy the holday. Starting next week it should get real busy again for the fall selling season.

The PTO just makes their money from renting you a spot (and they sell consessions). Any money you make is yours to keep. So I figure they will have more traffic then I will get at my house, plus I don't have to deal with the strangers wanting to use my bathroom or all those other crazy things I hear about when they are trying to get into your house. My DH is a police officer and pretty anti having a yard sale at our house because of bad stories he has heard. I just have to worry about getting everything over to the school, which is a downside since it is about 45 mins from our house, but other than that I was thinking it is a good location.

just wanted to add to check the date of the car seat you are selling. On the bottom of the car seat it will have an expiration date. Sounds to me like you might be nearing the expiration date of it, but double check before you sell it.

I have some time... :)

Baby and Toddler clothes (no stains or holes, I threw those away....mostly Gymboree, Baby Gap, Carters, or nicer department store brands):

All baby and toddler clothing .50 each or $1.00 for a set/outfit. Shoes .50 per pair. Fancy holiday dresses $2.00.

Pack n Play - $20??? Check to see if it has been recalled. $20 seems fine if it is in fantastic shape. If it is a bit beat up then $10. If it has been recalled, trash it.

Travel System (stroller, carseat, and base) - $50??? Check for expiration date also check for recalls. If it is in fantastic shape $30. If there is a fair amount of wear $20. If it is close to expiration or expired or recalled, trash it.

Umbrella Stroller - $5 :thumbsup2

Baby Swing - Again, check for recalls. If not recalled then $15-20 seems fine

Kolcraft lights, sounds, vibrations bassinet thing - Like a bouncy seat? $15 if no recalls.

Hard Cover books (mostly Nicholas Sparks and other best sellers) $1 each :thumbsup2

Soft Cover books .50
:thumbsup2

VHS movies I priced some of mine for .50 each and ended up donating almost all of them to goodwill.

DVDs $3 Maybe do $3 each or 2 for $5 type of thing

All of those I have kind of based on searching old topics on here, these things I am really stumped on how to price, online I keep seeing metion of toys should be priced at .25-1, but I don't think it means these kind of toys.

Toys like:

TMX Elmo (and other Elmos like Chicken Dance, Hokey Pokey, Pizza Time, Potty Elmo, Elmo Live) $5 each

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse I paid $10 for one on craigslist

Weebles Castle Without Weebles $5. With Weebles maybe $8-$10

Drop and Roar Dinosaur ??

Fisher Price Bounce and Spin Zebra $15

Talking Bouncing Tigger $5

Corn Popper $3

Fisher Price Peek-a-blocks train ???

FP Peek-a-blocks pull behind elephant $3

Kids vacuum cleaner $3

Fisher Price Ball Popper We sold ours for $4

I forget what it's called by the Fisher Price Puppy that has different colored body parts and sings and stuff $5

Leap Frog Musical Baby Walker $5

Baby activity tables (one is fisher price and one is Leap Frog) $5 each

Leap Frog musical crib toys (like the catepillar with songs and numbers and stuff) $3 each

Fisher Price Musical Light up Crib Things (like the oceans one and bird one that play soothing sounds and project images on the ceiling) $5 each

Toddler Motorcycle thing (it's not power wheels brand, but same premise, pink with 3 wheels, 1 in front 2 in back) I have the charger $15

Leapfrog phonics radio $3

Knows your name Pooh (have CD) $15 as long as pooh is pristine

Talking Mickey Mouse with keyboard piano ??

Vtech Smile (I think that's what it's called, the baby video game system that hooks to the TV) with 2 games ??

PS2 (with 2 controllers and memory card) ??

Xbox 360 games (all the call of duty, james bond, bad company, halo, ect) ??

Baby books - like the bigger hard cover with mirrors or touch and feel and stuff $1-2

Halloween Costumes / Dress Up costumes, Disney Store Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Tinkerbelle, JoJo (from Jojo's circus), Tom Arma Black Cat (retails 59.99), witch, Minnie Pumpkin, baby Tigger At a yard sale, $8-10 each. But if I were you, I would sell these on ebay (or craigslist) and not at a yard sale. If they are in great shape meaning that they still look new (and are still being sold in stores) I'd price them at 40% of what you paid.

Swim Suits - baby toddler .50

Crib sheets $1

baby blankets I priced mine at .50 and didn't sell a single one. They were all the very soft and cuddly ones too.

Toddler potty $2

Baby quilt, bumper pad, curtains, crib skirt, diaper holder ect $15

2 Hi 8 8mm cameras (1 Sony 1 Samsung, 1 purchased in the late 90's the other in like 2003...have charger cables batteries ect for both) $40 each

10MP Digital Camera Olympus (perfect condition, but I have an SLR and another point and shoot that goes underwater) Is it still being sold in stores? If so I'd price it at 40% of what you could buy it for on Amazon.

6MP Digital Camera (works fine but older and skuffed up) $10

Laptop as is - No charger.... It worked ok when I last used it a few years ago, but was getting slow.... I've since lost the charger so I can't guartentee it doesn't need repaired - I was thinking like $20 is that too much? Have you wiped all of your information from it? I wouldn't sell it (or donate it) without doing that. If you aren't worried about personal information then I would just donate it to a chairty that will refurb it and give it to a kid in need.

Men's Asics Tennis Shoes - Unused, new in box were like $125 or so each--- DH bought 2 pairs in the wrong size (he needed Extra Wide), but lost the reciept and never returned At a yard sale I doub't that you'll get more than a few bucks for them. Our local goodwill would sell something like that for around $15.

Maternity Clothes $3 each

Diaper bags Depends on the brand. I priced mine at $3 and they didn't sell.

CD players/ radios $3 to $5
