Very good condition.

It currently has a tv sitting on it, as we never use it. It being the tv or the cedar chest. They both are going into the yard sale.

I have a price of $30 on the tv. It is a big tv, heavier than all get out. Works perfectly.

But I am stumped on a price for the chest. I live in a depressed community, and it is full of resellers and pickers. I want to make sure I don't get ripped off, and get a fair price for it.

If it does not sell, chances are it will go into our bedroom as a stand for our tv (which we do use).

I'd probably price it around $75.

I probably wouldn't pay over $30 for it at a garage sale. $75 seems really high to me for it to be a garage sale item - I could see that price at an Antique Store, though.

It depends on the chest. My mother has a beautiful cedar chest that would be a bargain at $150. I have one in my basement holding my fabric for sewing that isn't worth $15.

I had to practically give one away here from in laws estate. It was Lane. It was gorgeous, but nobody would take it. I think it's a matter of luck ~~ as in who shows up looking for a cedar chest. I would say start at $100 or $75 and then negotiate if someone gives it the eye. ;)

Please think about moving it into your other bedroom for a TV stand, as cedar chests are wonderful for storing clothes.

I have an old cedar chest which DH refinished. He lightly sanded the inside of the chest to reactivate the cedar. It is like new again. It holds hand knitted sweaters I want to pass on to grandkids.

I think a cedar chest is precious.

If it were a Lane cedar chest, I'd price it at $75 or more!

We are going to take the tv off of it within the hour. I will take photos and post them to give y'all an idea of it.

Thanks for the price suggestions. I don't even know the brand name of it.

Do you have a consignment store nearby where you might sell it? Perhaps you could get more that way, if you don't decide to keep it for storage.

Wow! In a depressed area I would say $25. The TV is high to IMO. It must be old if it's big and heavy. Even if it works perfectly, $20

It's not about what it is worth. It's about what people will pay. I hope it's more in your area!!!

We decided to keep the cedar chest, and are going to sell the huge entertainment center. Yay!

And I will lower the tv to $25 and see where it goes. Everything is half price from 1-3, so I am sure it will go at least sometime during the day. It is a large console, with a flat screen. Gorgeous picture! With remote control.
