They didn't get it fairly in my book. They had the same exact record as the Red Sox. If there wasn't a wild card, there would have been a playoff.

But not like it really matters anyway. The Yankees will beat the Angles, and the Red Sox will beat the other Sox. Then after that.....

Speeking from both sides here, I would say being a Yankees fan is harder. First of all, they are the evil empire, so you ALWAYS take stuff for liking them. Plus they seem to be everyone's rivals, so that also adds into the taking stuff everywhere thing. Also, have you ever rooted for the Yankees when they LOSE? My god the crap you take. Plus it is extreemly frustrating because like you said, we expect to win.

Being a Red Sox fan as well, yeah it is hard watching them, seeing as they tend to just make/miss. But the crap you take for liking them is not only a lot less to begin with, but has gotten A LOT less with them winning last year's world series. It seems that everyone has found their inner-red sox in them, so when I wear my Red Sox hat, the only crap I take anymore is from die-hard Yankees fans.
