Are you ready?

GO YANKEES!!!

It makes me laugh that the Sox got Mirabelli back just to catch Wakefield. :rotfl2: Peter Gammons on Baseball Tonight Sunday night said that Mirabelli made him a bet that he'd be back with the Sox by the end of the week. Guess Gammons owes him a dinner. :rotfl:

I think they'll split the series and both teams will still be virtually tied for first come Wednesday morning. (I know the Yankees have the better winning percentage right now, but it's a virtual tie.)

Should be a fun two nights.

I just heard about Mirabelli. Has the plane landed yet??????????? :teeth:

Go Sox!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I must have somehow missed the announcement, how'd they get him back?? It was really stupid to let him go in the first place....

I wish I could be at the game tonight just so I could boo Damon... what a traitor  It's not that I'm bitter or anything... I'm mad at management to, so don't broach that :rolleyes1

Here you go:

Johnny Damon won't be the only player making his return to Fenway tonight.

The Red Sox today re-acquired Doug Mirabelli from the Padres in exchange for catcher Josh Bard, minor-league pitcher Cla Meredith, and either a player to be named later or cash (which figures to be in the six-figure range). The Yankees were also trying to acquire Mirabelli.

Mirabelli, who is flying to Boston from the West Coast, is expected to be in the starting lineup (and catch Tim Wakefield) for tonight’s Red Sox-Yankees game at Fenway.

The Sox had dealt Mirabelli to San Diego for second baseman Mark Loretta in December.

Bard had filled Mirabelli’s role as Tim Wakefield’s personal catcher, but had struggled catching the knuckleball. He leads the majors with 10 passed balls.

The 35-year-old Mirabelli batted .182 (4 for 22) in 14 games with San Diego this season in five starts.

Gonna be a fun game. I just can't wait too hear what happens after, "now batting, number 18, Johnny Damon"

GO SOX

I think Sox fans have found someone they'll boo even louder than A-Rod!

Damon comes into Fenway red-hot too; both his bat and his glove. He's been impossible for the opposition to get out for the past few days.

Hey Lisa....didn't want you to be the only Yankee Fan on your own thread!

Go Yankees.

I figured the fans would boo Johnny and they followed through. I always liked Johnny even as a Red Sox. He only has good things to say about the fans at Fenway too bad they didn't at least cheer him to start just to thank him for all he did for their team. Oh well and the game goes on!

I hate baseball but was raised to hate the Yankees. I absolutely loved the crowd reaction to Damon, and the signs.
