Hi,
Hoping for some advice from any fellow candle obsessives.....
Having only recently realised that you can buy these in the UK (duh!) I treated myself to some candles and car jars at the weekend and they arrived yesterday....because I wasn't sure what "flavour" I wanted I had ordered some of the small housewarmer jars with a view to getting a larger size later. My only previous experience of these candles was in Florida where I bought a medium sized one and I remember the smell filling the whole villa (Christmas Cookie- yum!)- however I am a bit disappointed with the small versions. They don't seem to smell as much. I thought that they'd be the same strength but not last as long. Is this my imagination...or maybe my sense of smell is deteriorating, I hear this happens as you get older!??

I use the small jars to "test" the flavours too - they don't usually small any different to me, are you burning them for long enough - they recomment 4 hours minimum for a jar candle.

What flavours did you get? I really like raspberry cream - so YUMMY!!!

I like to buy the wax tarts and use a third, or half, at a time to make them last longer :sunny:

We have a candle store in Meadowhall that sells them :thumbsup2

I don't notice a difference, some smells are a lot stronger than others :)

Which did you buy??

As was too. I usually but the large jars but before Christmas I wanted to try a few new sents so bought some small jars. I didn't find them as intense as the larger jars :confused3

What ones did you buy because I use the Freshly Cut Roses Tealights and they are as strong as the large jars :teeth:

I bought Storm Watch and Christmas Cookie! ( I know, I know- couldn't resist though- I'm pretending it's called Easter Eggie!)

Storm Watch is ok but not sweet/fruity enough for me so I'm sure I'll be buying some more soon.

maybe not....I only burned them for a couple of hours....

I haven't tried these, maybe I'll buy some! The place I bought from had 25 tarts plus a tart warmer for £20...I was tempted...

The Pumpkin Pie and Blueberry Muffin are yummy :thumbsup2

Freesia is nice too but may not be sweet enough for you - try the cherry as well if you get chance

Christmas Cookie is scrummy but nowhere seems to have any more stock :sad2:

Can't wait to find some new/different smellies on our trip  :cheer2:

I love the fruity ones too :) My favourite is Cranberry & Peppermint :thumbsup2

I'm with you Joh I love the fruity ones Cranberry Chutney is one of my favourites. I also love Christmas Cookie and Jack Frost which has a lovely minty smell that reminds me of snow for some unknown reason.

i buy the tarts to test the smells, i have about 30 lol on the go not all different smells though,

my big jars are juicy cherry, fruit smoothie, witches brew, trick or treat, raspbery cream and cherry lemonade love them all lol gonna buy some more in florida and a new burner

Excellent choices Jeanette :thumbsup2 Christmas Pudding smells so yummy I could eat the candle rather than the real thing :teeth:

clean cotton... omg its an addiction for me!

I am having the same problem with a candle I got last weekend - I bought home sweet home and have been burning it for a while but can't smell it!! As already mentioned some smell stronger than others!

Christmas pudding is my fav!!! It is so yummy I could eat it!!! :teeth:

Jill I am not keen on Home Sweet Home I don't think it has a strong smell :(

Kaylee - don't think I will buy it again!! DH was rushing me to choose as I had been smelling them for about 30mins and he was getting really impatient!!! Will go shopping by myself next time then I can take my time!!! :teeth: :rotfl2:

Haven't seen them in WDW.

I usually get mine from the Florida Mall :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the recommendations for different flavours to try...I also got a Home Sweet Home car jar but I think it's a bit too cinnamony. I'm no good at this internet shopping- I like to sniff before I buy!
