I'm getting too inspired to do something more with our house, and we don't have the budget for it right now! LOL!!

(just teasing -- I'm loving all the pics that people are posting :) )

Yeah well I know this will be no help but at least we do not have pictures!! Last Monday DH and I decided to buy picture frames for all the pictures from Disney we have floating around the house. We had decided to put all Disney Pictures in the living room and needed frames. Ok so we go get frame's from Wal-mart then stop in Ikea to look. DH showed me lamps he liked. SInce we needed new lamp shades anyway and the new lamps with shades were cheaper I said get them. So we get home and put a lamp up and Dh says to me "I should paint tomorrow" I said ok so back to the store for paint chips so he painted the living room. We have all the pictures we have hung. Need more. BOught a new clock and curtain rod. So we pretty much redid the living room based on lets hang disney pictures in here!!
I love playing TRading spaces with ourselves. So much fun. Next job----the dining room!!

Its been 9yrs so it's definately time to do something here! So for 12-15wks DH & I clean/declutter/organize & decorate a room a week.
1st was the living room. The end result was a new picture for the living room wall where we moved a bookcase from.
2nd wk was the den. Oh my! Im still working in here. Found a closet! Going through the file cabinets and making some sense out of our financial situation.
This past Sat was the dining room which was easier.
This coming Sat (we always start 10am on Sats) is the master bedroom. DH & I already went through our dressers and donated about 10bags of clothes! Bought a new rod for the double window. Will need to buy new draperies and a new shade.
Then we move onto the 3 bathrooms and the kitchen.
Finally we'll get upstairs to DSs bedroom and then his toyroom.
By then it will be spring and boy do we have work to do out there!

i know what you mean...DH and i are working on our bedroom! we've lived in our apartment for about a year now and we never got around to decorating anything...the living room is pretty bare...bathroom isn't done...and our bedroom was just horrible! we pretty much had a bed and a dresser in there and that was about it. so, we built a headboard...painted it...attached it to the bed last night...bought a bed set...a new nightstand...a new lamp...and new curtains! we still need stuff for the walls, but we haven't found anything inspiring yet! oh, and we also bought one of those candle chandelier things too...

i really need to stop watching trading spaces...

LOL! Well, I got started last night. Got a new shelf unit with doors for the game room and started putting a couple of boxes worth of stuff away, then put the remaining shelves on our old bookcases that were just sitting there unassembled (rather, they were assembled, just the shelves themselves weren't put on). Then I stopped at Hobby Lobby and got some basket things and silk flowers and I'm using those to "hide" some stuff that I can't put in drawers because I don't have them. Hopefully the end result will turn out. I also figured out how to create my own "doors" for the existing shelves.

I've also planned how to better put up some beanies which will just require a little fabric purchase -- I need to stop at Walmart and see if they have something more fitting than what I found at Hobby Lobby.

Then I decided where I wanted to hang some pictures. Of course, that means we're going to have to go get frames... Sigh. ;) I guess I should see if DH agrees with what pictures I want to put where before I just start putting pictures up, don'tcha think? LOL!

Next stop... Walmart, then probably back to Hobby Lobby yet again. :teeth:

You already started! I was going to tell you "DON'T DO IT!" Once you start, it becomes a sickness. You keep thinking, "after we do this, we're finished" then something else comes along. We were going to be finished after our kitchen, but on Sunday, DH said he has a guy who will make a granite top for our bar for very little. I know what will happen... we'll wind up replacing the mirrored glass behind the display, then we'll "have to" buy a bistro bar table.... and on and on and on...

Stop while you can! Trust me! :smooth:

LOL RU!! I've already got big plans for my craft room, but it'll be a while before we can do that. In the meantime, I can at least hang some pictures (if I can figure out how to find the studs in the walls so we don't puncture any pipes or anything... ) and finish unpacking some boxes. :)

Oh yeah -- I forgot to mention my plans for our upstairs most-used guest bathroom.

Hmm... guess I should think of something for the cat-bathroom, too....

Yes, Spago. Our cats have their own bathroom. ;) We have three full bathrooms and one half-bath in our house. There are only two of us. Guests usually use the half-bath downstairs, or rarely use the one at the top of the stairs. The other is in the far corner of the house and we have one of the kitties' litterboxes in there, so it's the cat bathroom. ;)
