How is this counter service food? Sounds good, but want to hear from you if you've been.

Thanks :)

It is one of my absolute favorites for lunch, followed closely by the Tangerine Cafe in Morocco.

I went for the first time in march by myself and I liked I had the terriyaki chicken and while it was a bit different then what I am used to, I liked it. At first the portion looked small but it filled me up

DH & I had a really bad experience with this place. I can't rememeber the exact name of what both ordered (Shogun something or other?) but it was really bad. I've heard really good things about this place so hopefully it was just an "off" day. We both felt ill after this meal. This was especially surprising since my DH has the strongest stomach of anyone I know- makes me think of the movie Jaws where they cut open the shark and a license plate emerges. (Ok, sorry I know that's gross). But my point is, DH never gets an upset stomache no matter what he eats. The only thing I can think of is maybe the chicken was undercooked or something(?) We were fine the next day.

Anyway, we will not be visiting this place any time soon.

I love this place, but I have noticed the service can be a tad slow and the line can get backed up pretty quickly.

DisneyDame - sorry to hear you had a bad experience there. I got food poisoning from our favorite local chinese place a few years back - I was violently ill for 8 hours straight. It was chicken too, that's always in the back of my mind.

Thanks everyone for you're comments, I think we will give it a try.

Our thoughts exactly!
We particularly love the out door seating! :)
The food is great! :)

We like this place. However, the had changed the menu somewhat when we visited last year and the quality of the food had declined a little bit.

If it's not too hot, eat out back and enjoy the gardens and the koi fish ponds. The area is just beautiful. Oh yea, and the Japanese beer is pretty good!

It's not bad. It's comparable to those Japanese fast food places at the mall food courts.

I had the Shogun before and really liked it. The chesnut cake was good except that if you take it out of the cool A/C building, that thing melts faster than ice cream.

oogieboogie-my kids and DH love the mall japanese places  so I guess they'll like this place

Harambe - didn't know there was seating available, just thought it would be a walk up and walk away type of counter service. thanks.

We love this place. Ate there twice last December and plan on going back once or twice this year. My favorite is the Tonosama Combination. My husband loves it but did think the soup was just a bit too salty. Otherwise great!

DH and I enjoy this place. For some reason...we always end up going on a rainy day. (or maybe we just do EPCOT on rainy days. heheh)

It's nice to sit inside and warm up with some hot food. I love the chicken teriyaki...even though it's mostly dark meat...love japanese rice too!

This place is pretty good. I have always liked what I have had.

Sushi in the lounge across the way is fabulous too.

There's seating both inside and outside. There aren't that many tables inside, but the outside seating is really nice. It looks like a Japanese garden with paper lanterns hanging from the trees and you can hear water from the stream.

thanks again oogieboogie, I'll make it a point to check that out, sounds pretty and relaxing :)

We love the chicken yakitori. We lived in Japan for four years and it's the closest we've found to the yakitori we had in Japan.

It's located in a pretty setting, but the one time I ate there, I was disappointed in the food. From all the good reviews, I guess I should give it another try.

This is our whole family's favorite place to eat in all WDW. It is good, fast and inexpensive. Never had to wait for a place to sit down. I always get a kid's meal and it is just exactly enough for me.
