Wondering if anyone has any inside info on the opening date for the Yak & Yetti at Animal Kingdom. The last I heard was spring 2008, but we are going in April and would love to eat there. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I asked about making an ADR there last week and was told that it's going to be counter service, not table service. The CM said they were just told themselves. And no opening date yet.

That's not what they said on Friday when I called and asked.... Its a Landry's (Table Service restaurant, BUT there IS a counter service component as well... similiar to the setup of Ragland Road. You got BAD information; sorry you got someone incompetent giving you info... that really sucks.

Here are some pics...

It was originally supposed to be October of 2007, now I am hearing November.

I called yesterday, and was told it was suppose to be ready this summer. As of now still no ADRs and no idea when it will actually be ready. CM just said be persistant and keep calling.

It's amazing the different stories floating around. I called Thursday or Friday and they told me ADRS would be taken VERY SOON and it would be open in November. I guess we won't know until it happens. I feel like I'm waiting for Jovi tickets to go on sale!

I was just going to ask the same question!! We are going in March and want to try it for lunch. Guess we will have to keep checking!!

:)

Well I'm glad to hear they now know the Y&Y exists. I tried in the spring to get ADR'S for Thanksgiving week and they said, "you want to eat where?" I said your kidding, right? Nope they weren't! Glad to hear maybe they have visited AK this year. Hum. Now I'm wondering just where the Dining CM'S
are working from?:confused3

When we were there last week, it looked like they had quite a bit more work to do on it. Hopefully it will be soon. Can't wait to see what the menu is like. 7 yo DD read the sign hanging outside the restaurant and asked me what Yeti tasted like, :rotfl:

That's priceless!!!:lmao:

Apparently there are a lot of mixed messages going around about this one. At last notice it will have both table and counter service available. It is not known if they'll take the dining plan (Landry's other restaurants at WDW don't). And the latest opening info is November 14 but there are varying rumors that it will be pushed back even further. It will probably be open for a trip in April but at this point nobody really knows.

Plus, a lot of Disney Dining booking agents seem to be confusing it with Tusker House, formerly a counter service restaurant, which opens in November as a table service (buffet) restaurant and is now taking ADRs.

Any info on what the menu might look like?

It's supposed to be Asian Fusion, whatever that means. :confused3 (I'm guessing "New-Age Californian-ish" with an Oriental influence. :rotfl: )

The Yak and Yeti WILL be both full service and counter service and will also have a merchandise shop{I know that is a HUGE surprise LOL:) }.It looks like it is a large two-story building and I think this is really going to be a great addition to Animal Kingdom which really needed a second full service restaurant.I hope they continue to add things to Animal Kingdom fairly quickly-it is one of my favorite parks-my other favorite parks are Magic Kingdom,Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios.;) :)

Scheduled opening Spring 2008; Asian and sushi (and the unique delicacy known as chicken strips:lmao: ). I hope it's up and running this summer but if not, we'll do the "new and improved" Tusker House. We are never disappointed with them:thumbsup2

Spring 2008? When and where did you come by this information. Your dates are very different than what I have seen around the boards. I was really hoping for a December visit...

allearsnet says opening date is November 14, 2007......

We called for ADRs yesterday, for a January trip. No Y&Y available yet. My guess is if the AllEars date is true, that ADRs would open up next week, one month before opening. But I have nothing to back up this wild guess. :guilty:

I heard from another source that said WDW dining stated there is a delay and it wont be opening until after the first of the year (2008).
