We've never eaten at Yak & Yeti, but after a terrible time this morning trying to book a New Year's Day ressie I got lunch here.
After doing some reading it sounds like a night ressie would have been prettier, but went back and those ressies are gone.
So, is the atmosphere better upstairs? Should I request that and/or a table window? Since the parade is later it won't be for parade viewing...

Any suggestions on food? I keep reading about these fried green beans?

My DD has a peanut allergy and I've always avoided this restaurant, but after doing some reading online it appears they are very accommodating and don't use peanut oil. I swear I thought the menu had a peanut sauce, but I don't see that anymore. Am I just crazy? :confused3

Thanks so much!

I have a tree nut allegery and shellfish allergy and was wondering if I would be alright here. I usually avoid Asian food due to the oils and possible cross contamination but Disney is so accomidating that I thought Chinese may be safe here. We have a reservation but I am not sure if we will cancel it or not- I am leaning towards trying it. Looking foward to any replies or suggestions about Y&Y.

We love Y&Y but have only eaten upstairs both times, so I can't compare it to downstairs. I have never requested a table location - I'm usually just happy to be seated!

Fried green beans are very good - even my non-vegetable eating DH and DS eat them. They are an appetizer.

I enjoyed a shrimp/filet combo they had last time. And the cream cheese wontons are great for dessert.

I cannot speak to the allergy thing though.

My son has horrible food allergies, including peanuts and nuts. But at Yak & Yeti, and all Disney restaurants, it really shouldn't be a major concern. Let the staff know about the allergy, and they will guide you in the right direction. Not sure about Yak & Yeti as it isn't officially Disney owned, but at most restaurants, if you wish, 1 of the cooks will discuss the food allergy with you.

We enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant, and found the 2nd floor more peaceful.

My DW and I both very much enjoyed our meals there, probably our favorite 1-credit restaurant.

I haven't finished my review posts, but here are some food pictures for you:

Also can't help with info about the allergy, but we ate here last month and absolutely loved it. We did not make any requests but were seated upstairs. No window view but we had a wonderful time looking around at all the carvings and furnishings.

DH had the Anandapur Duck and I had the maple tamarind sauce chicken. We both raved about it for days. And we both had the fried wontons - the only time of the whole trip that we got the same dessert. We had agreed to always order 2 different things in order to share, but there is no sharing these babies. Get your OWN wontons and honey sauce!

Don't know about the allergy, but we love Yak & Yeti. I go to WDW several times a year and Yak & Yeti is a must do every single trip. We've had the Pot Stickers, Fried Green beans, egg rolls, lettuce cups, ribs, steak & shrimp, duck, seafood curry, Pho (sadly no longer on the menu), fried wontons dessert, sorbet, and mango pie. Consistently our favorites are the lettuce cups (my favorite thing on the entire menu), fried green beans, pot stickers, ribs, steak & shrimp, and fried wonton dessert.

This past May my husband and I were on the DDP, but didn't want any of the Cs options but didn't have enough TS credits, so went to Y&Y as walk ins, and paid for two orders of the lettuce cups OOP. We are both big eaters, but still had some left. You can easily make a meal on just those, (which is what I plan to do in Sept:rotfl:) Even as walk ups we were seated in less than five minutes (this was right at opening).

We've eaten on both the top and bottom floors and don't really care where we are. Unless you are sitting by a window when the parade goes by, the atmosphere is not that much different between the two floors.

Love Yak and Yeti! We go there every year! Steak and Shrimp, egg roles, pot stickers, Sweet and sour chicken have been the items we order every year. Of course, my DH is always full after the appie and meal but I plough on to the Fried Wontons. A must everytime you go! :cool1:

I canceled the ressie cause I got worried about my DD's allergy. It seems they still do have the peanut sauce there. After some other failed attempts I got into another place for lunch that day. But, this does sound like a place I should try on a trip with just DH and I. Maybe for an anniversary one year...
Thanks!

We love it here...now you have me dreaming of fried green beans, duck, and a blood mary from Y&Y. Best meal ever!!!!

Hi! I can help a little with the food allergies. I have a severe shellfish allergy and we ate at YnY in Feb. We were seated downstairs (which was easier b/c we had a baby/highchair) and the chef was waiting to discuss things with me. he was very friendly and told me exactly what I could and could not eat. There were lots of options!
The food was awesome, the A/C was cool, and the service great. I would try it!
