Yak & Yeti
We went an hour early for our ADR, and we had no problems getting in... there were open tables all over the place!
The service was great, and our waiter was very helpful and polite. We ordered the Dim Sum Basket to start, and it came with pork pot stickers, shrimp siu mai, cha su bao, and pork sie mai steamed on a banana leaf, with soy lime dipping sauce:
It was very yummy! My favourites were the pork sie mai... and the sauce was very good with everything. It was the perfect temperature when it was served, and it was plated very nicely too.
Next, we had our entrees. I had the Tempura Shrimp with chili plum sauce, coconut-ginger rice, and stir fried vegetables:
Again, this was plated very nicely, but I quickly disassembled the shrimp... I'm clumsy, and I was afraid I was going to poke an eye out!
The shrimp was very good. It was a good balance between shrimp and batter, and the sauce was an excellent compliment to the flavours. The vegetables weren't very memorable, but they were good. The rice had a very nice taste that surprised me. I don't love coconut, but it was a mild taste that I really enjoyed. Usually I put soy sauce on rice, but I didn't bother this time.
My Mom had the Sweet and Sour Pork with ginger, garlic, bell peppers, and pineapple:
This reminded me of Chinese food you get at the mall, but it tasted MUCH better. The pork was excellent, and the sweet and sour veggies were also very good. The breading on the pork was perfect... not too much, and the sauce was just right too. Very good!
We didn't have dessert, but the gentleman at the table next to us got the chocolate brownie sundae, and it was HUGE! It was about the size of the sundaes at Beaches and Cream. He barely touched it... I don't think they knew it was going to be so big.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice. It's not very fancy, but it is perfectly themed for its place in the AK. The theming made me ready to ride EE!!
Overall, good food, good theme, but a little pricey for what you get.

(three out of five Expedition Everest Snowflakes - if it was cheaper, it would get four)
