The construction of the Yak & Yeti is supposed to be complete by Oct. 8th.

Has anyone seen a menu? or made an ADR?

I am curious where you got the 10/8 date from? Y & Y was initiatlly supposed to open in the summer of 2007, but everyone agrees, based on where they are in construction, that it won't be open for summer. I haven't heard of a specific opening date.

I made my ADRs for my Oct trip a couple of weeks ago, and when I inquired about Y & Y, was told that the opening date is unknown, and ADRs are not being taken at this time.

The cuisine will be Pan-Asian, that's all that has been said.

And, given the purveyor (Landry's) that could mean hamburgers served on square plates! :) Seriously, I am not expecting a substantially authentic or daring cuisine to be offered from this restaurant. Expect as much innovation as you see at Rainforest Cafe.

Agreed. It was a big mistake to sell this restaurant to Landrys. Now we will have 2 TS restaurants at AK and neither will be on the DDP.:confused3

Yak & Yeti? Good grief! Couldn't they have came up with a better name than that? "Betty & Yeti" would have sounded better, or even "Ying & Yeti," or "Spaghetti & Yeti."

Methinks "Yak & Yeti" sounds Yuckie. Hey, how about "Yuck & Yeti?"

Oh well. I'll try it if it's open during the second week of December.

:rotfl2: This is too funny. I am glad I am not the only one that feels strange eating at a place called YAK  I think I like Betty and Eddie

. . . It was a big mistake to sell this restaurant to Landrys . . .

1) Maybe.
2) But, few would put a HUGE amount of money into a WDW restaurant.
3) Disney is getting away from owning their own restaurants.
4) Especially new ones.
5) After all, name ONE new Disney-owned restaurant since the 1990's.
6) In fact, they have actually closed Disney-owned eateries.

NOTE: I am glad they are outsourcing restaurants. With the general cost cutting, not counting the cost cutting due to DDP, Disney restaurants are losing ground on uniqueness and quality.

The restaurant is located at the turnoff to Kali River Rapids/Maharaja jungle Trek in Asia. It is across the path from the high towers that the monkeys swing from.
