It is listed as both a QS (Local Foods Cafe) & a TS (Restaurant). Can anyone clue me into the difference, please? TIA! Deluxe Dining PDF

The Local Foods Cafe is a QS located outside of the Yak & Yeti Restaurant, which is a TS location. Go to the menus section, either on this website, or at allears.net, and you can take a look at the food & prices served at each of these 2 locations.

Yak and Yeti has both a counter service and a table service. The counter service has fried rice, eggrolls, sweet and sour chicken, etc. and is not bad. . .but. . . we LOVE the table service. The steak and shrimp is great and the lettuce cups are my favorite appy on property. If you go be sure to try the dessert wontons! Both participate in the dining plan.

Thank you!! I was trying to figure it out from the official site, & had just about decided my dyslexia was winning. Disneygrandma, that explains why they are located in the same place!! :lmao: PudgetteD, I do appreciate the suggestion. I have seen that dish pictured & lauded a LOT on my search for good tips. :surfweb:

I feel so silly for not really getting the difference. Now I know what to ask for when making my ADRs. I am really  loving  this forum!!

Welcome to the DIS and remember there is no such thing as a silly question.

I agree with the previous poster in that the lettuce cups are the best appetizer on property. I go there sometimes just for the lettuce cups and always have to leave one or two. They are soooo good, but they give you too much (and I'm a big eater):rotfl:. We also love the pineapple wonton dessert. As far as entrees, we usually order the ribs or the steak and shrimp, but also love the duck and seafood curry. We'll be eating lunch there during our trip next week and can't wait. It's one of our favorite restaurants on property.

Just FYI: if you are on the DDP, you can get a box of fried rice for a snack credit at the CS. It's good size too. I've eaten a couple of things from the CS, but don't really care for any their entrees. Love the fried rice for a midafternoon snack though.

My mom went nuts over that tidbit of info!!:cool1: She's a light eater & is now attempting to plan all her "meals" through the snack credits on the DDP. That way Dad can have all the CS for himself. They are so weird,:rotfl: but it works.:confused3

We have tried both enjoy the table service but was not impressed with the counter service. The counter service is like bad panda express. I loved the steak and shrimp and fried won ton dessert.

One more nice comment about the TS. We visited during our recent December trip and all 4 of really enjoyed our meals...steak and shrimp, beef and broccoli, honey chicken, mahi mahi.

Another vote for the wonton dessert.

It's definitely on our repeat list for our next trip.

Yum!

this is great information!!! We had TS at Yak and Yeti last year and my DH won't stop talking about his fried rice....it's the ONLY thing he wants to eat at AK and I thought he might have to use a QS credit for that!!

We're trying the table service for the first time next trip and I'm so excited. Now I have to decide what to try and that is going to be extremely difficult!!! ;)

Is there such a thing as "good" Panda Express? :lmao:

OP - we've only done the CS so far, but have the TS on the list for our next trip. We thought the CS was pretty good. I think when we went, it was still a new restaurant so maybe it has gotten worse.
