Sorry - personal thoughts on this restaurant?

I have put it on my list of restaurants and was sure had good reviews but looked today and not too good :sad2:

I wouldn't take 100% notice of other people's reviews. Yes, use reviews as a guideline but bear in mind that there will be at least one bad review for every restaurant. Why don't you just try it for yourself? :)

its very good! i had the skirt steak with shrimp which was really nice and my df had the ribs which he liked too. We followed our massive lunch with the yummy shared brownie sundae which we couldn't find the room to finish.

In fact on our last trip we enjoyed it so much that we went again later in the holiday!

I would definitely give it a go especially if you are on free dining or have the dining plan

We liked it - good food, great service and would go back... :thumbsup2

I never take notice of others reviews TBH as I'm convinced people prefer to dwell on the bad rather than the good - it's human nature... Or maybe I'm just contrary because I like to make my own mind up... ;)

The food we thought was fab, we were tucked away from the rest of the restaurant but that was fine because I was so tired I could've fallen asleep at the table.

The portions were huge at the time but we went in October 2008 so I don't think it had been open for too long.

You are absolutely right things in life such as food and shows are all very subjective. Everyone is going to have a different opinion. I mean it's nice to try and get a general consensus of a place but I say if you really want to try it go for it. :)

We thought it was excellent. The food was really really good. I had the duck and DH had salmon. We both were more than happy. :thumbsup2
The only negative is the airco. It's on just way too strong. We were first seated in an area where it was really cold, even DH felt cold and that doesn't happen easily so we asked for another table. They moved us to another area which was better, still on the cooler side, but we were happy with it. When we arrived it was early in the lunch time schedule, so the place was still pretty empty, I guess it gets a bit warmer when it's fuller.
It's on our list again for our next trip!

We've eaten there twice. The first time everyone in our party of four agreed that the starters were much nicer than the entrees. I remember being very disappointed with my Tempura Shrimp which was cooked in regular batter, not tempura batter at all. :confused3 The best of the lot was Matt's Shaoxing Steak (skirt steak) which was meltingly soft, although the huge pile of jasmine rice which accompanied it was nothing to write home about. Our appetisers (Port Pot Stickers, Dim Sum Basket, Seared Ahi Tuna and Lettuce Cups), though, were all delicious.

So, the next time we ate there (just Matt and me), we ordered a selection of appetisers to share and didn't bother with entrees. My review (with photos) is in post 3 here.

I think this was our favourite meal of the holiday. Our only complaint was the size of the portions ~ if we'd known how large they were we'd have shared appetizers rather than had one each. It was a huge struggle to then tackle an entree and still find room for a dessert ........ but we managed!! ;)

DD has eaten there twice and really enjoyed it. She's vegetarian. The chef prepared something special for her that wasn't on the menu. She said it was yummy.

Ate here August 08 & enjoyed the food. Service was very poor, waited ages for tomato sauce, only to have to get it myself from another table, I did'nt like my drink & it was just taken away, almost full & I was not offered another. Asked twice for ds a refill, then had to get another server to get it. Also, we only wanted 1 dessert & after trying to persuade us to have 1 each, still brought us 2. We were on DDP& it was charged to that. We rarely ask for re fills & always tip, but this time we just left half of the expected amount. We are going to go again this year but I will complain or just leave $1 if the service is as bad.
