Yak and Yeti

We have an adr for Yak and Yeti for dinner in January and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what they thought about it? I am a little uncertain of my choice.

I have mixed feelings. We had lunch ADRs, and the food was very good. The issue was the chaos in the "lobby" of the restaurant, and the waitress seemed a bit spacey. It took a long while to get our food. The mussels appetizer and steak/shrimp entree was delicious. I wasn't in love with the fried wonton desert because the wontons weren't as sweet as I am used to. It took over two hours for lunch, so it limited what we could get done in AK. Maybe because its new?

We had a great dinner this earlier this year there. The food was fantastic especially the duck. We did have some confusion with the ADR though. When we called and booked it the Dining CM booked us for 9 dragons at Epcot. We have no idea how it happened we have had no desire to go back there since 1998. The Yak and Yeti CM apologized for the error and quickly seated our large party. We had a great waiter and had a great time.

We ate lunch there in July. We loved it. The AK is always so HOT, and it was a great place for a break. We were on the dining plan and there was alot of food...good portions!

We've eaten there twice and have loved it. The last time in August though it did take forever to get the food. But when we were there in January the service was great. August though, we had 8 people and in January there were only 5 of us.

The food was really really good!

DD13 and I had lunch there in August. We enjoyed it very much. The food was prepared nicely and the portions were more than we could eat. We were not on the dining plan. We shared an appetizer, both got entrees, and DD13 got a specialty drink (Sprite and cherry, she loved it). We couldn't even consider dessert. Our waiter was very attentive and we felt well taken care of. We arrived about 20 minutes before our ADR time because we hadn't had anything to eat that day (planning to ride EE several times before lunch -- which we did) and we were starving. They were able to seat us immediately. I would go back to this restaurant.

Ate there in May and it has become my of my fav dis restaurants. Great food and service. The lettuce cups were real good.

Ate there in Sept, can't wait to go back. Flavor of the Skirt steak was out of this world, Salmon great, the won ton dessert was FANTASTIC!!! We also watched the parade out the window. The two points I agree on, this is not a fast restaurant. Not an issue for us, but if you are in a hurry, make another selection. Our waitress was a little spacey as well, and did what I consider the unforgivable for waitstaff~ blamed it on other waitstaff. (My son waiters, so we understand busy, but don't shift blame)

Anyway, the food was great, can't wait to go back!

We passed on making ADRs our last trip for here, but reading this - I'm adding Yak & Yeti to my list of must try's!

We had lunch there last week. We didn't have an ADR and when I called the Dining number they said there were no openings. I went to the restaurant at 10:45 and was able to get ressies for 11:15. We were hungry so the early time was ok. Hubby had the mahi mahi and I had the honey chicken both were very good. I had the fried wontons for desert (which is the whole reason I wanted to eat here) they were excellent. No issues with slow service as we were so early. When we left the restaurant I have to say that the waiting area was mobbed. So I'm thinking the earlier your reservation the quicker you will be seated and served.

The potstickers app with the soy/lime dipping sauce...fantastic!

The cream cheese won ton dessert is incredible and HUGE!

I love this place and would go back for the potstickers alone! Not to be missed!

We ate there during our recent trip 9/15-9/12. It was our most anticipated meal for our vacation...sadly it was by far the absolute WORST meal we ate all week.
It took 15 minutes for our server to speak to us and 45 minutes to get our appetizer (it was not even close to being busy ) We shared the potstickers for an appetizer. They were ok...typical chinese take out flavor...the dipping was sauce was sooooo salty! No lime/ginger flavor at all.
I had the Honey Chicken and it was nasty. They were chicken nuggets thickly coated in batter and they were really really HARD. The honey sauce was just sweet...no flavor at all. I couldn't eat it! DH had a beef and broccoli dish...the meat was really chewy. Both kids had the chicken bites and they were the same hard nuggets like in my dish. The fries that came with them were so cold and hard..they were like a cup full of twigs.
We would have loved to have spoke to our server about it but he dissapeared!
We really were looking forward to this meal and we were so dissapointed. It is the first dining experience we have every encountered in all of our Disney trips that we will never return to.

We ate there last week and really liked it. The food was good, they seated us in 5 mins even though we were early for our ADR and we got our food very quickly. My husband thought it was one of the best meals of the trip. I have a new trip report on the review board and just posted about this so you can check it out if you like.
