Two adults (Mom and I) will be spending an evening at AK -FP for the Navi River, at 5:30pm then touring Pandora area before taking in the tree of life awakenings and the river of lights. We have an ADR at Yak and Yeti, but now can't decide. Both menus look good to us and we haven't been to either. Maybe the deciding factor is how crowded would the canteen be and would we have trouble getting seats? This will be in early May.

I have eaten at and enjoyed both, but if it were me, I’d choose Satuli. I find the food to be really good and high quality for quick service. Their meats are grilled and delicious.

You can always order on the app and save some time if it’s crowded.

Satuli is new and clean and has interesting food. You can also save a little in food and tip. I like that they have a beverage station so you can get your own free refills, and the decor is fun. I’ve been several times and never had trouble finding a seat. Crowds are always unpredictable, though.

I likeYak and Yeti, but I’d pick Satuli for the reasons stated.

We'd vote for Yak & Yeti. I like that Satuli offers something different especially for QS but we just thought it was alright. We'll probably do Satuli again but next trip it will be Yak & Yeti.

I can't remember eating at Yak and Yet so my opinon isn't fully fair but I would do Satu'li Canteen. It's great food, especially for quick service, and we found it to fairly reasonable plus customizable, plus it's available for mobile ordering if you'd like to try that (we loved using that option).

We have eaten at both, and enjoy both for very different reasons. The food is very good at both, so you can't make a bad choice. Do you want QS or TS? Between the two, I prefer the menu at Yak and Yeti, but that's a personal choice. Satu'li may be busy, but you can order online and skip the line. Highly recommend this if you choose Satu'li.

To me, Satu'li offers something a little more unique. I felt that, while delicious, Yak & Yeti had food I could easily find elsewhere. The different bowl options at Satu'li are delicious, fresh, and more interesting (to me).

We ate at both also and enjoyed them both but Satu'li's food selection is different. We really loved it. We went last summer when it was hard to get in. We ordered in advance and when we got there - the line was long but because we had preordered we were able to just walk in and pick up our food. There was plenty of seating and very air conditioned.

I just read on DFBlog that they replaced the quinoa base with black beans and rice

I agree with the others that Satu'li offers something a bit more unique. Yak & Yeti has food that you could easily find elsewhere...honestly I found the food to be nothing special. Decent, but stuff you could find at any asian restaurant. Satuli food is so good and fresh, its honestly of the better meals i've had on my trip. I very highly recommend it. I've also tried that blue dessert and wow, it was so good! :cloud9:

I had the chicken with the potato hash and herb dressing (reg potato and sweet potato mix). So good!

We ate lunch at Satuli and dinner at Yak & Yeti. Both were very good—best meals of the trip, and you won’t go wrong with either choice.

I do agree with those have posted that Satuli is more unique. It also has the advantage of not needing an ADR. Personally, we always find it challenging to be on time for ADRs.

So I might be in the minority/maybe it was what I got, but I was not a fan of Satuli. It looked really good and I was really excited, but the food to me was really salty and not appetizing. About halfway through my bowl I couldn't eat anymore due to the salt even though I was still hungry. The atmosphere is nice though and I was really excited to eat there, but we vowed never again. As reference, I got the beef with rice and the herb dressing.

Yak and Yeti I have only done the quick service version and loved it. We ate there all three days of our AK days.

I ate there yesterday and the quinoa base was no longer a selection. I ate the rice and bean. It was yummy!

We were there in January and had the quinoa base~ it was delicious! We went back last week and found the menu had already changed. We had the rice and beans and it was good but not as good as the quinoa. While it was still good, we thought the rice and beans were a little dry. Why do they always change a good thing??

OP, we've eaten at both recently, and they are both very good. What it comes down to is, do you want a counter service experience or a table service experience?
You will not have a hard time finding a seat at Satu'li Canteen, they reserve the seats only for people eating there and are very vigilant about it. We were there over New Year's and had no problem getting a seat.
Is it an option to eat at Satu'li for an earlier meal and share something and then eat later at Yak and Yeti? Best of both worlds? That's what I would do :flower3:

Wow, it's getting harder to decide! Good to hear there is plenty of seating and AC at Satuli and it sounds like with advanced ordering there won't be much of a wait. I do like the idea of a table service though, which is why I made the ADR, but as someone mentioned, it can be hard making it on time. I like the flexibility of QS. Hmm, now there is more to think about!

I vote Y&Y. LOVE it there, so much more relaxing too. Get the Won Ton Creme Cheese dessert .............. YUMMY IN THE TUMMY.

Been to Satuli' twice now ... it was okay. I think the menu is way too limiting. Last time (Jan) what I ordered was disappointing enough they called out a manager. They explained they had many complaints about what I ordered and that the menu was going to be changing soon. Sounds like it did.

I am probably in the minority, but Satuli doesn't do anything for me. If I have to eat there, I order the kids hot dog (which is actually a good hot dog). I don't like the bowls.

Yak and Yeti I love though. I usually have a meal or two there every trip.
