Yak and Yeti honey chicken...

I've had the crispy honey chicken from the counter service and it was very good. I would never made an ADR for the table service because I would probably only eat the honey chicken and why pay so much more inside when it is just as good outside. :thumbsup2

I had the honey chicken at the TS when it first opened. It was terrible...almost inedible. It was deep fried bits of mostly dark meat chicken that was covered in a very thick batter. They were really hard and dry. The sauce had no flavor..just sickening sweet.:scared:
All that being said we ate there only a few months after it first opened. I have since read many great reviews and am optimistic that it has improved. We are actually considering giving Yak and Yeti another try but I still think I would pass on the Honey Chicken...too many other interesting options on the menu. :)

Almost everyone raves about Yak and Yeti. I can't get past the name. We were down last week and saw the restaurant and in all fairness it was tacky. The outside and the inside. Ok the food maybe good but the name and decor LAWD

DH & I had it on our last trip at the quick service last trip and it was yummy! We liked the quick service so much we are heading to the restaurant next trip!

I did not like it because it literally tastes like just plain honey is poured on the chicken. Tasted too much like straight honey, if that makes any sense.

I agree with many above. The quality just didn't seem there for this dish when I tried it. Thick batter. Dark meat. Reminded me of something from a cheap fast food restaurant.

You have just described my experience at Yak & Yeti!!! We also went a few weeks after it opened and the honey chicken was yucky:sick:. After hearing all the positive reviews I will give it a second try but order the Shaoxing Steak and Shrimp ;)

Had the quick service. I think it is rather bland, but DH and the kids love it! It is one of their favorite quick service meals.

My wife and I have both tried at the TS and the QS places and both times we found it to be too sweet. Plus the sauce is thicker then we would like. But everyone enjoys food differently, so YMMV.

This is my husband's favorite CS in all of WDW. I always get the Honey Chicken and enjoy it!I've always found it to have a good flavor and texture. It's a pretty big serving, also!

Hate to burst your bubble but this is what I had and it was terrible! The batter on the shrimp was thick and tough and almost gummy...the steak was OK but way overcooked....Our whole meal at "Yuk & Yeti" was sub par - it's gotten better reviews in the last year but I don't know that I will ever bother again....there are just too many GOOD restaurants at WDW :rotfl:

I was disappointed by the crispy honey chicken at the Yak & Yeti counter service location. The chicken was fried with a sickeningly thick batter, and all the sauce collected on the bottom of the carton. The first three-quarters of the meal was essentially marginal chicken nuggets that fell several steps below the standard nuggets regularly available around the World. The last few bites was mostly sauce.

That said, pictures of the dish at the table service restaurant make it look considerably better. I enjoy Yak & Yeti, particularly the crispy mahi mahi and the tuna appetizer. I'll probably skip the counter service spot in the future.
