Any word on Y&Y counter service? I have heard a lot of reviews on the table service restaurant but not much about CS. Are there tables? indoor? How is the food? I'd appreciate any thoughts. JJ

No indoor seating. Plenty of outdoor seating.

Food...just my opinion - I hate giving my opinion because someone else always has the opposite opinion. But here it is. Decent food court-style Chinese food, nothing special.

Yeah, we are struggling a bit with CS at AK. I don't like Flame tree (had a bad lunch there, probably my fault as I was tired, overheated, and ordered something unusual for me but can't eat here now). We are having lunch at Pizza Planet at HS so I was trying to avoid Pizzafari. Not much else at AK now by way of CS so I was thinking of giving Y&Y a try. Any other thoughts?

Sounds like you either don't like Chinese food or don't like outdoor seating.

You could always catch a bus over to AKL and eat at Mara. But other than Restaurantosaurus which serves the usual burgers/fries/nuggets, you've pretty much exhausted all CS availability at AK.

Pizzafari does have things on the menu other than pizza - I hear that many people are quite fond of the Italian sub sandwich.

We liked it but I'd rather take it over to Flame Tree and eat it there. There's no shading and two little tables had umbrellas on them. When it started raining, nobody had any shelter to eat..and since AK doesn't give you lids for the fountain cups the Cokes got rainwater in them.
The food is good, not better than a take-out place. I like how they serve it in take-out boxes though. It's easy to eat while walking around the park, if you'd rather do that than sit.

We ate there in August and enjoyed our meal. We also took our food over to the Flame Tree seating area to eat. The best outdoor seating in WDW.

We ate there, and it wasn't bad. Much better than Pizzafari, which we didn't like much at all (probably won't return there). So we would return to Flame Tree of Yak and Yeti.

I enjoyed the Yak & Yeti CS. I was planning on eating at Flame Tree, but the rest of the family was tired of BBQ. I got the Shrimp Lo Mein and it was great!! Tasty shrimp and noodles. My kids got the Sweet & Sour Pork. I tried theirs, but wasn't impressed. Most of it was just some bland white rice. We had no threat of rain and the temp was in the mid 80s, so really had no issue with the outdoor seating, but I could see how it could be a problem. This was one of my favorite CS meals of the trip.

Although I thought the CS food was only decent, I really liked that it was something different.

We thought Y&Y was okay. Nothing spectacular just normal counter service chinese food. We walked further down by the water and found some shaded tables there.

I agree with the other posters that it's on par with a Chinese food court. I wasn't too impressed, the portions are large, but the food is expensive. My DD is a picky eater, so I wasn't thrilled with spending all this money to have her eat three bites. Restaurantosaurus is the usual burgers, but they do have a nice toppings bar.

We enjoyed the CS. It may be typical Chinese take-out, but I'll take it over a burger and fries any day! My kids got an eggroll with fried rice and jello and they still talk about it being one of their favorite meals :lmao:

We had the Shrimp Lo Mein and it was really good. This has turned into one of our favorite CS places. The only downside for me is the seating is all outside. We were there in July and it was SO HOT. When we eat I like to escape the sun for a while.
