Yak and Yeti Cafe

We ate there both cs and ts. Both were a solid OK. Nothing special. I was a bit disappointed.

Forgot to say that even though my kids love this restaurant they have given it the rather unfortunate nickname "The Yakking Yeti."

We love the TS. Last trip, dd12 and I went into the bar to sit and order some of the yummy green beans. (Whoever had my seat had just gotten off Kali, however... )

Warning about the lo mein. Our friend's dd12 ordered it, thinking it would be like typical chinese carry out. It wasn't. There's a lot of stuff besides noodles in there.

The steak is wonderful. The ribs are good. The mahi-mahi is decent, as is the honey chicken (my dd prefers the honey chicken at 9 dragons). The beef and broccoli isn't anything to write home about, but decent enough for someone not willing to try something different. Of all the times we've eaten there, the service was only questionable once.

We had Yak & Yeti counter service on our last trip - I actually liked it The egg rolls were good; couldn't complain about the sweet & sour pork.

For Disney counter service I thought it was really good - in reading some responses to this thread however, it would appear that I don't have quite the high expectations for Disney quick service that some have ...

We did Yak and Yeti for lunch back in February. The food was pretty good, however, our service was pretty bad. She may have been having an off day, but it took a LONG time for two adults to get through a meal that shouldn't have taken more than an hour. I think we were there for about 2? And she messed up our dining credits and we had to fix them. Otherwise, though..I'd give it another go. The tempura fried green beans are FANTASTIC.

I too was excited about Y&Y, but we skipped it because they did not seem to be very unique and they had no vegetarian options on their menu. (Sort of strange for an Asian place! ) Here is their menu:

It does look to me like the Lo Mein is a vegetarian option. We're trying Y&Y for an early dinner on our upcoming trip and are hoping it will be great.

My wife and I ate at the Y&Y counter service portion in July and really liked it. We liked it because it did not serve the standard counter service fare, so it was a nice change of pace. Additionally, I found the portions to be fairly large, which I liked.

As others have mentioned, they do have only outdoor seating and we were there in July. Not many of the tables are in the shade at lunch time. In fact, my wife and I bounced around to about five tables as people left, hoping to find one that was cooler. We finally got one under an umbrella, but then a number of ducks were running around between the tables. I was not a fan of that.

While my wife and I table-hopped, we ended up forgetting our backpack at one of the tables. We didn't realize it until we got up and started to walk away empty-handed. I quickly flagged down a cast member, who went inside and in less than five minutes came back with our bag. We were relieved, although the most valuable thing in the bag was just our point-and-shoot camera.

Overall, I enjoyed Y&Y counter service.

Did you ever think that they strategically called the restaurant Yak & Yeti, and not Yeti and Yak, because of what Yak kind of sounds like. , probably wouldn't be a good name for a restaurant, but Yak & Yeti works better.

That's what they should have done with it! Have an Audio-Animatronic Yeti (with John Ratzenberger's voice, of course) doing a little stand-up comedy routine in the dining room, and name his act "The Yakkin' Yeti"!

Oh no! Our whole family devours the honey sesame chicken from Nine Dragons. Yum! Yum! I saw it on the Yak and Yeti menu and hoped it was the same. As soon as we step foot inside Epcot, our children want to confirm we are eating lunch at Nine Dragons or the Yorkshire County Fish Shop. However, this upcoming trip I don't have Nine Dragons booked because I thought it would be too similar to Yak and Yeti. I guess I need to get on Disney Dining and add Nine Dragons "just in case" we don't like Y&Y.

Oh do I love the Y&Y table service!! We hadn't even planned to eat there but did so on a whim and they had space for us. The babyback ribs were to die for if you like that sort of thing -- so meaty and the bbq sauce was so good. I also fell in LOVE with the cream cheese wonton dessert. All said and done, with ADRs at the more popular places like LeCellier and Chef Mickey, it was the BEST meal of our last trip.

I vote give it a try!
