WARNING WILL ROBINSON!!!

We ate at Y&Y over last weekend and were told by the bartender, Mario, who even marched in the back to ask that they did NOT take Disney Annual Passholder discounts. I am really upset. Not that it's any huge amount of savings, but it's the point, and I would have thought that, because they were Landry's (Rainforest, etc.) that they would have taken it. We were sadly misinformed. Anyone eating there should get to the bottom of this. I am really, truly hoping they change their minds on the Disney Dining Experience as well.

For the three of us, we dropped $60 for LUNCH! I think that is pretty steep. We had three draft beers between two adults; Ben got a kid's meal with an upgrade to the brownie dessert, which was an extra charge, which was fine, and my fiance got a dessert. Other than that, we both got JUST appetizers. We thought it was not a good value for what we got.

One good point: the tuna appetizer was TO DIE FOR.

We were going to try for the AP discount but ended up getting a 20% CM discount (though we're not CMs), so I'm not sure whether or not it would have worked.

We had major problems getting our food and I think the people around us did, too. Our waitress brought our green bean appetizer then we waited -I don't know- a very long time, then came back and apologized and gave us another green bean appetizer. She didn't realize we got the first one.

A manager noticed all this and gave us the discount without our asking (or expecting) any compensation. We knew there would be problems in such a new restaurant. However, they need to decide what their discount policy so people can decide whether or not to eat there. It is not an inexpensive lunch. We'll probably stick with Pizzafari or Rainforest Cafe.

That was nice of them. I always try and bear with staff when restaurants are first open.

However, one of the reasons we patronize Disney is that they DO honor the DDE. I hope the management of Y&Y and corporate realize this and grant the DDE discount. You're absolutely right, I shall go to Pizzafari or the new buffet (by the way, looks fabulous, very "Boma-ish") in Tusker House before I go to Y&Y because of the lack of discounts.
