Yahtsman Steakhouse..Horrible experiance

Just returned from a great trip. The only negative was our experiance at the Yahtsman. The waitress was horrible. She was downright rude! She only ordered drinks (sodas only) for 1/2 the table & 10 minutes later when she hadn't returned with the drinks we asked a staff memeber to please find her. Apon returning she had our drinks in hand , huffing saying she knew she only took drink orders for 1/2 the table. It was downhill from there. She wore a constant frown & was abrupt. I shuddered whenever she approached the table. The food was only ok. We were a party of ten & we all agreed we'd never want to eat there again & were actually uncomfortable during our whole meal. The men all wanted to speak to a manager but the ladies talked them out of it. Eventually the table next to us sent their food back (took a good 1/2 hour to come back to them!) & complained to manager about the waitress. She was such an unapologetic individual. It made us sick that her tip was $148 (included in the bill). If this is what fancy dinning is you can keep it!


We did however love LeCellier. We could eat there every night!

Was her name by chance, Linda? I have some friends who had a horrible experience there, too, and that was their server's name.

You should have complained! Why did the wives talk the husbands out of it? The manager can't do anything about bad service if they don't know about it. I'm glad the other table spoke up but it would have pulled more weight if your table had, too.

Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. We ate at the Yachtsman in September and it was one of the best meals we had. The food was excellent and our server was excellent. His name was Ricardo (if I remember right) and he had a good sense of humor. He was very friendly, took our picture for us, made sure we had coffee refills, water, etc. He explained the dining plan to us and told us what his recommendations would be. We also left him an extra $10.00 over his tip that was included. I would definitely go back again...hopefully we don't get the server you had.

We looooved the Yachtsman and are in fact eating there again this year! YUUUMMMYY!!! sorry you had such a bad experience but you should have complained. When you don't speak to a manager, they don't know anything went wrong and the problem will not be fixed.

So sorry you had such a bad experience there! We've had two excellent meals there - our last time at the end of September was amazing! We thought the food was excellent and our server couldn't have been any better! Oscar was our server last year as well (What luck!) We really hit it off with our waiter and we chatted with him on and off throughout our meal!

They even gave me a rose and a mini-cake with a candle in it for me to blow out for my birthday!

I'm sorry you had such a bad time there... I wish you had told management about your server... doesn't sound like she is up to par for that restaurant!

We consider the Yachtsmen Steakhouse one of the very best (if not the very best) places we've eaten at Disney!

So sorry you had such a bad experience. We ate there on 9/27 and it was the best meal of our trip. Our waiter was Thomas and he was exceptional. I would have definately complained to the manager, nothing changes unless they are aware.

Sorry you had a bad experience. DH and I were disappointed when we ate there in July. We spoke with the manager and was disppointed with him.

Is this by chance a heavy set blonde lady? If so....she stinks!

We love Ricardo and won't go unless we know he is working....I think the manager knows my voice even though we are only there once a year!

Yep , it was Linda, & the reason we didn't complain during dinner was we've a cousin who works at a very well known restaurant in NY city & he's told of waiters who intentially cough on food. Talk about making someone paranoid. Once dinner ended, she had already been drawn attention to by the couple at the table next to us & my mother inlaw felt bad (said everyone was entitled to an off day)! In hindsight I wish we did because she really wasn't Disney material & we spent a pretty penny on the meal. I'm not sure if the meal was really all that bad (I'd rate it a 2 out of 5 stars) or if our experiance wih her effected our experiance.
