Yahoo, my Cable Modem Phone came today!

I'm so excited I've been without a home phone for two weeks now! I recently saw an ad on Earthlink for this new service they offer called Unlimited Voice, it's only $31.00 a month including the taxes for unlimited local/long distance and all calling features AND you can pick any area code you want and even bring the adaptor with you anywhere you have DSL or Cable internet. Pretty good.
The quality is better I think than our BellSouth Connection, it's much louder... Of course it's like 12 at night so no one really to call but so far so good.
It also comes with deluxe voice mail, which means you can have up to five greetings and pick when each on is used, aka between 4-7pm or only on Mondays, etc... fun! Now I'll just have to order one of those voicemail CD's.

Is it an actual phone or is it through your computer??

I subscribe to Vonage and it sounds similar. I love it and wouldn't trade it in for the world! Using Vonage saves me over $100 a month.

Nope, actual phone, you connect this little box, it looks like a cable modem to your cable modem and computer, then plug your phone into the back of the box and your able to make calls. You can also bring this with you anywhere there is DSL or Cable internet.
