Yachtsman Steakhouse

We love the Yachtsman! It's great food, awesome service, and a quiet atmosphere. We always request a table near the window so we can see Storm-a-Long Bay as we eat.

There's a nice review of Yachtsman (w/ pics) if you follow the link in my sig. :hippie:

If Yachtsman and Shula's was going to do a steak throwdown...

...Shula's would win.

I was not happy with the quality of my filet at Yachtsman (ok, it was served over at the Crew's Cup Lounge in Dec 2009). My filet at Shula's (July 2010) was a much better quality for the same price.

I am not a fan of Yachtsman, although DBF is. We celebrated a birthday there once. My steak had a large piece of grizzle running down the middle, and the table right next to us was 2 families with young children, who, at 9 PM were understandably tired and cranky. The parents were tired and cranky, and we could hardly hear ourselves think. When a deluge opened up on us on our way back to the Poly, I took it as an omen.

As to dressing for signatures...I usually wear a summery dress or dressy pant outfit because that's what I like to do on vacation. But, I think you will be OK in most anything short of shorts, although the one time we tried Bistro de Paris, there was a family there in shorts. Cause it's Disney and you can't ever tell what you're going to see!

Shula's and even Fulton's Crabhouse will always have better steaks than the current Yachtsman Steakhouse. Of course, neither is on the DDP, which just might be a clue as to why they are better right now. Until recent years, many Disney restaurants offered consistently great steaks and prime ribs (Narcoossee's, Yachtsman, Rose & Crown, Pueblo Room, just to mention a few). These were all available on older all-inclusive plans for those willing to pay a premium for convenience and possiblly break even. Disney has changed focus to a different breed of guests and applied some pretty powerful marketing to make it successful, at least for now. After dropping a friend at the airport tomorrow, we will swing over to the Hollywood Studios, but willl just have snacks and then go to Fulton's for a better dinner than is available anywhere in the parks.

I'm really surprised others don't like Yachtsman. We were there in Oct 09 and they were some of the best steaks we've ever had! It is on the list for our next trip and will be probably from here on out. We drool every time we talk about it!

I quite enjoyed Yachstman in 2010...a few weeks ago the WORST meal and service we have ever ever had at Disney!:confused3

Another vote for shulas. They take tiw discount. If you go make sure to try the apple pie.
