Yachtsman Steakhouse Children and Fireworks?

I have an ADR for the Yachtsman Steakhouse, at 7:55. We are a party of 8, which includes 4 children. Our kids are use to eating out, in sit down places, but is the Yachtsman, kid friendly? We have never done a signature dining expereince before, but the menu looks awesome and I have heard great things. Also, can Illuminations be seen from the Yachtsman? Thanks......

You can't see Illuminations from YSH.
It's a very nice restaurant, we had our wedding reception there a few years ago. Last summer we took 2 of the kids aged 11 and 14 and they loved it.

Yachtsman is a very good restaurant, fine dining. Expect dinner to be a good 2 hours (ours was without dessert and our meal was paced perfectly)

You can't see Illuminations from YSH and if you have a 7:55 ADR, you won't make it to Epcot in time (Illuminations is at 9pm, 9:30 during Christmas holidays)

Actually, we could see a some of the high up fireworks from Yachtsmen when we went in June. But its a small chance that your table would be able to since its a fairly large restaurant and only a few tables near some of the windows afford that view. And again, its just the high up fireworks you see.

I think its kid friendly. My daughter enjoyed her mac and cheese and they had this very cute puzzle dessert. Its hard to describe but it was really neat and unique and clearly for kids so they obviously cater to the younger set. We saw lots of kids the night we ate there, including one family that was celebrating their little girl's fist birthday. They had ordered her a pink cake and all the waiters came over and sang.

My kids loved it and so did my husband and I!
