Yachtsman or Shulas- which would you choose?

I'm trying to plan our anniversary dinner. I wanted to go to Le Cellier, but some family members won't be in the parks that day so I'm trying to pick a place at a resort. Just curious about the food at both places. Which would you choose?

My family loves the Yachtsman! We went with a party of 10 in February, and we had some people with us that are very particular about their steaks. They LOVED it! It is a great meal, and great service. My personal preference is the filet with mashed potatoes. However, people in our party got the ribeye, and some other cuts, and everyone raved about all of them!

Two great steakhouses, both of which are far superior to Le Cellier. Shula's is a little better (and, I think, a little more expensive) than Yachtsman Steakhouse, but you cannot go wrong with either one.

This is very interesting....we have ADRs for Yachtsman's in December. My DH cannot wait for this meal to come any sooner :rotfl:. My DD8 is a huge steak lover, does Yachtsman's have a steak on the children's menu?

I too feel Shula's is the better choice to Yachtsman. I like the steaks better, and the atmosphere more as well...

Can't agree more. Well said.

I didn't enjoy my steak at Yachtsman at all - I think I had the strip steak and it was not tender (in hindsight, I should have sent it back.) Others in my party had the filet and said it was good. Still, I did not feel that the quality was up to par with other upscale steakhouses I have eaten at, especially for the prices (and we paid OOP.) That being said, I would book Shula's UNLESS you have kids in your group. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Shula's doesn't have a kids menu. Can anyone else confirm that?

I decided to check myself, and according to Shula's website, they do have a children's menu upon request.

Shula's I do not think has a children's menu - and when we were there there was one kid (about ten or so) that we saw in the entire restaurant. So if you are taking kids, I'd pick Yachtsman. If its a grownup dinner, Shulas has better food.

(oops, I see its available on request - I still don't think most people would be comfortable bringing their kids here since there aren't a lot of kids here).

We had a really great dinner at the Yachtsman in January.

I think the answer depends on this: are you on the dining plan? then I would choose the Yachtsman for 2 points.
If you're not on the DP, try Shula's, (because I have already been at the Yachtsman, heehee. )
Now, are you confused?

The food at Shula's is superior to Yachtsman but I would go somewhere else altogether like BlueZoo or Jiko
