Hello! I have a Yachtsman ADR in a few weeks, and was hoping that someone who has been there recently could comment. I was wondering if the 28 oz Portherhouse is back on the menu, and also if the truffle risotto has returned as the seasonal risotto. Current online menu shows porterhouse for 2 which seems like too much food. Also shows butternut squash risotto, not truffle. Thanks for any info!

According to allears menu it is not, and the Porterhouse for 2 is only 4 oz more. My husband had the 28oz back in 2013 when we went on DDxP, and ate appetizer, the 28oz, split a truffle mac and cheese, and he ate dessert all by himself-- (he was proud, I was horrified) and he wanted to go again in October and was like "32oz for 2??? I ate one almost that size by myself!" And I need more than the measley 4 oz that would leave me

My husband too. I'm afraid to split a 32 oz steak with him, I'd go hungry. :scared:

On the Disney website, even the 18 oz strip steak is gone. Looks like the largest steak is a 16 oz ribeye. I think Disney is keeping things pretty current on their website menu pages.

Oh no....I am not a big ribeye fan and prefer the strip.. Also recently found out you can sign up for Shula's bday club and get a free entree for your birthday. We are going to be in the world for my 40th this year, so I may just go that route, as we have never tried Shula's and it gets amazing reviews too.

16 ounce ribeye usually equals 8 ounce edible meat 8 ounce fat. I’m a fillet person myself. If not that I’ll take anything other than a ribeye. I’m sure Yatchmans ribeye would be better than most. I just stay away for them. Their fillets are delicious though.

Not sure where you order your steaks, but you are getting taken advantage of. There is n way a professionals trimmed ribeye would be 50% fat. Now, if it’s bone in then you might be close to 50% bone and fat cap by weight.

The good ol’ days...no, it’s been a 32 oz for 2 for a while, but you get 2 sides instead of 1. The Butternut Squash Risotto was on the menu in December, so I’m guessing it’s still there. There is a delicious Lobster Risotto that comes with the 1.5 lb Live Maine Lobster, but it can’t be substituted or upcharged. They charge full price for it.

No I’m not getting taken advantage of because I don’t order them. Ribeye equals more fat. They are the fattiest cut of steak and I don’t like fat. I prefer lean meat. And if you took the 50% literal maybe I should have put sarcasm at the end.

I'm the same way! I realize that for a lot of people, the fat marbling for Rib Eyes are what makes it a desirable cut of meat but I don't enjoy chewing on grilled fat (fatty braises like short ribs are fine though!). A lean top sirloin is actually my favorite (not as tender as a filet, but more flavorful IMO), but you don't see those as often on Disney menus.

The best alternative to top sirloin that is widely available at WDW is the strip steak, again not as tender as a filet, but more flavorful IMO. I’m a strip steak kind of guy and DW is a filet kind of gal, so we’re usually getting one of each, rather than going for the 32 oz. bone-in porterhouse for two that includes one of each. At YS, it’s an 8 oz filet and a 12 oz strip, so probably less meat than the porterhouse even considering the weight of the bone, but we always leave satisfied.

I generally prefer NY Strip to filet, and am not a huge fan of ribeye. When we visited YS, I wanted to try an aged offering and asked our server if she believed the aged strip was worth the premium. She came right out and said "go with the standard filet". I was not disappointed -excellent. That said, Shula's>YS.

My husband, daughter, and I all shared the porterhouse for "2" but for the 3 of us and while it is a lot of food, I thought it was well worth it. The porterhouse gave my hubby the ribeye he loves and me a filet. Plus it comes with 4 sides - onions, spinach, mushrooms, and beef fat potatoes - which I thought added to the overall "value." My only complaint was they cut it before it got to the table, which took some of the juices away.

I can't speak for what risotto is on the menu now (we last went in November) but we had the butternut squash one and sadly it was not good. The risotto wasn't cooked quite enough and the squash lacked a lot of flavor

If you liked the truffle rissotto get the truffle mac and cheese there....omg so good! I like steak but I really go here for the mac and cheese! My husband goes for the steak! He likes the Kansas City cut or something like that.

I enjoy when a restaurant cuts the porterhouse at table side and then pours the juices a top:cool:. On the other hand I'm a good hand at carving the meat off the bone which has a twofold purpose: demonstrating I'm ready for the zombie apocalypse and giving me more time to eat my dinner slowly. Sort of an eyes over belly moment.

I hear tell the spinach is especially good @ Yachtsman and hope it remains for the summer menu!
