Yachtsman dress code

DH and I will be eating at Yachtman Steakhouse later this month. We have a 7pm reservation and plan to walk around the Boardwalk after dinner. We know it will be warm out and DH was hoping to wear khaki dress shorts and a polo shirt. I thought I read on Disney's website that khaki dress shorts were ok for men, but when I was on the phone with MS, the woman said that shorts were not allowed and that men had to wear dress pants or jeans. Has anyone been recently and seen male diners in khaki dress shorts?
