Yacht Or Wilderness?

Depends on your situation and what you're trying to get out of the trip.

Little kids (who still may need naps) with a priority on being at MK, WL without a doubt
Adults only trip with a focus on F&W, YC is the no-brainer

In between those extremes, there are a hundred different variables to consider that may make one more ideal than the other. In general though, I like the theming of WL better.

Which parks do you like more? We have stayed at The Contemporary for close access to MK and monorail to Epcot but now that we have stayed at Yacht Club and Beach Club we found we like Yacht the best. We have young kids and they love the Yacht Club. Close to EP and HS, Best pool on property and great restaurants.

We were deciding between these two as well. With all of the construction going on at Epcot, we decided to stay at the Wilderness Lodge and spend more time at Magic Kingdom.

YC is my favorite resort. I love the proximity to 2 parks (boat or easy walk). The bus service to MK and AK has always been good. The rooms are bigger than WL rooms which is nice and my kids LOVE the pool. Even when the resort is full, it seems serene and I never feel like there are too many people there.

Not sure when your trip is but if during holiday time definitely WL. Most likely I would say that anyway depending on what your answers are to the questions others have asked as we love the theming and proximity to MK and the other resorts and the electrical water pageant.

Both are my favorites on property, so there is no easy way to answer this question! I love YC for its luxury feeling, proximity to Epcot to HS, incredible pool, and its overall location. WL is absolutely stunning with some of the best theming on property, and I love the dining options and outside areas of the resort. For families, I'd say WL is a bit better since its closer to MK and has a more family friendly feel, but YC's pool is also a huge draw for families too. Honestly I'd go with where you think you'd spend more time. If MK is top priority, the WL, but if HS and Epcot are what you're looking forward to then YC for sure. Getting to AK from either isn't too much of an issue, but YC is a bit more centrally located no matter what. I hope this helps lol, because I would struggle with this decision myself!

YC for me, WL is actually the only deluxe I have not stayed at. The only reason is we spend part of every day at Epcot or HS so YC is just perfect to walk to either.

You can't go wrong with either.
Agree with above:
If you plan to spend most of the time at MK, Wilderness is an easy choice.
With kids, while the Wilderness pool is nice, Stormalong Bay is hard to beat.
Adult only trip, again both are good, but prefer the walking distance to EPCOT and HS. And LOVE the Boardwalk at night.

I agree with a pp that you can't go wrong with either one. I've stayed at both and love both for different reasons. If convenient transportation is a priority, I'd choose the resort that is closest/most convenient to the park(s) you will be going to most often. Otherwise, I'd choose the one that the theme/decor appeals to you the most. Good luck deciding, although I'm sure you'll have a great trip no matter which resort you choose as they are both great :wizard:.

Agree, but all things being equal I'd give the edge to WL:earsboy:

Personally, I’d do a split stay and get the best of both worlds! Good luck deciding.

If you're planning on swimming a lot, Yacht Club.

If it's primarily a parks trip with a lot of time at Magic Kingdom, Wilderness Lodge.

Which would you choose to stay at?
We have selected both. Probably more meaningful for everyone to have you provide more than a wide open question. Resorts are a lot about locations, theme, room types/availabilty, discounts available, and transportion options desired, services and dining/park plans.

We will be going in May. We do a relaxed trip. I am handicapped so we don’t rush in the mornings and we like to do sit down dining. My little girl loves to swim!! I never thought of one of the resorts like Beach but we went eat at Cape May this year and we went early and just enjoyed ourselves in the area. We also visited Wilderness lodge and my husband mentioned that he would like to stay there one day. So now it’s hard to pick our next stay 😂 Yacht seemed a more relaxing feel for us in that little area so thats why I picked that but I really don’t have any basis to go on. We have stayed at Animal, POR and values. Thanks for your advice. If you have anything else to add I would totally appreciate your help!!

WL is a beautiful resort and a great place to Stay. YC is also a good resort and it would be a better choice if you use an ECV. Storm Along Bay at YC/BC is a fun pool that you could easily stay at all day. The rooms are bigger at YC than at WL and many of the YC rooms have a daybed.

The WL has better quick service options and the boat to MK is a great way to travel. You would have to take buses to the other parks from WL while you can walk or take a boat to Epcot and DHS from YC.

There is no wrong choice. They both have there good points. We love having a relaxing vacation at WL but we also love the BC for its location. :)

I haven't stayed at WL in a long time, but when we did stay there, I didn't like having to fold up our stroller to get on the small boats over to MK (that child is 8 now, so it's been awhile). I don't know if that will be an issue for you?

We have stayed at YC many times and we love being in that area! It is super easy to get to 2 parks, you have lots of things to do at night around the boardwalk, and my kids love the pool. We apparently go there a little too much, because the bartenders know us by name! We love having PHs and going into Epcot each night for dinner. In May, it would be convenient for the Flower & Garden festival (our favorite festival). My family would stay at any of the Epcot resorts without hesitation.
