Hello to all!
We booked the Yacht Club for our stay in late August. We have never stayed at one of the "Epcot resorts" before and I'm looking for any suggestions or advice about staying there. Should we make any room requests? What's the best thing about YC? The worst? What's the best way to get to Epcot from there? MK? What's the best thing about the "Epcot resorts"?
Thanks in advance for all of your help!

Did you book a standard view or waterview room? We just got back from a two week stay at YC and had a wonderful trip.

For a standard view I would request a view of the wedding gazebo. We had a waterview room. It was 1051 - we requested a 1st floor, patio, lakefront view and we got it. We had a view of Boardwalk and you could see the Eiffel Tower and Illuminations (high fireworks) from our patio. I also liked that we were by the side exit door so we didn't have to traipse through the lobby all the time.

Beaches and Cream is a favorite of my kids, as is SAB. Hurricane Hannah's is a good counterservice spot by the pool and they have wait staff that take your orders when you are by the pool. Good food and good drinks!

They also started doing kids activities by the pool everyday and a movie and campfire on the beach.

We like Cape May Buffet and it so convenient!

We liked the boat to MGM, but usually walked to EPCOT. Bus service to MK was the only downspot of the trip.

Have a wonderful time!

Here is what is great about the YC! Check out the link to a thread about my YC stay from a week ago! If there is anything else specifically that you would like to know...don't hesitate to ask!:thumbsup2

Thanks so much for your replies! We booked a standard view room (thanks for the tip DisneyMomx7 about a view of the wedding gazebo!) - would you recommend a certain floor?

Sazzo'sMommy - I'm sorry, I could not find your thread. Could you please post a link?

Thanks again!

We like the first floor because you don't have to wait for elevators (no fighting over who gets to push the elevator button!) and the kids loved seeing the ducks walk by each day!

We love the YC.....and why we love it - pool, location - walk to Epcot and boat or walk (15 minutes or so) to MGM, nice rooms, daybed, welcoming helpful CMs, walk to Boardwalk, our room also had a good view of Illuminatons

Check out my thread for pics of room and our fabulous view, we just returned on Sunday:

Thanks so much for all of the info! We are really getting excited to go!

Another question - when we walk to Epcot via the International Gateway, are there turnstiles somewhere along the way? We will get there early, will that be a problem going over to Future World? How does all of this work?

Thanks again for helping us out!

We love the Yacht Club -- it's a beautiful resort. For standard view wedding pavilion or quiet pool are both good.

The International Gateway turnstiles open when the park opens, but the worldshowcase areas are roped off (they don't open until 11 I think). But you can follow the path around to Futureworld no problem....the worldshowcase looks very pretty in the AM. It's a nice time to get pictures of it.

The Yacht Club is GREAT! There is a turnstile at the International Gateway and I thought I read it opens the same time as the front.(We never make it out that early):thumbsup2
:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

We stayed there before with inlaws and enjoyed it...we now stay at the Swan because it is not as crowded as the BC/YC area. The pool is great and try to do breakfast at Cape May before you go to Epcot..the Yachtsman is delish too!

We love the YC too. We stayed there by chance last July 4th (got a GREAT rate and switched hotels). It turned out to be our favorite WDW hotel. While we love the GF, there's something about the YC...
