For anyone that has booked a waterview room, what room number did you have and did you like the view? :sunny:

My YC lagoon view rooms have all been concierge but the view was wonderful. It's always been room 5183 or 5173. You looked out towards the lighthouse over the back entrance of the YC courtyard and out to Crescent Lake and the Boardwalk. I could also see Illuminations from 5173.

I'm curious about water view rooms at the Yacht Club also. Do they overlook the pool? Last year when my DH and I went in May we were upgraded from a standard view to a water view, (it was our anniversary - it was the one and only time we were upgraded). Our room overlooked the quiet pool with the Boardwalk in the distance. I thought I'd love it but we found the quiet pool wasn't very quiet and found it too loud for our liking.

I've stayed at the Yacht Club once and loved it. I had a room that overlooked the gazebo. We actually got to watch a wedding ceremony. I'd like to go back and I'm very tempted by a water view - but not if its a view of the pool.

I'd love to hear others' experiences of water views at the YC.

Our water view room was 4063 and it was perfect!!! We were above the marina and had a direct view of the Boardwalk. We also had an excellent view of Illuminations from our balcony. One of our favorite things was to just sit out on the balcony and watch the boats coming and going and the people walking and riding bikes below.

I think it helps to be higher up in regards to viewing Illuminations. We were on the 4th floor and didn't have any problems, but we often noticed people on the 1st floor walking off their patios onto the lawn to watch them (It could be they just preferred being on the lawn). I think the only request I would make with a water view room would be for an upper floor.

Generally I like to be on the top floor. I understood that the top floor was concierge but I requested that anyway. I guess I had said something about my older Mother having arthritis and wanting to be near the lobby so our reservation had a notation of "medical" on it. At least that is what I figured it meant. I had also requested a lake view. When we checked in the CM told me I was not going to be on the top floor or in a corner room with extra windows. We were going to be an the first floor. I was disappointed. He said it was one of his favorite rooms. # 1157 (A smoking rom...don't know if it is now) was located right next to the turret facing the lake and it was an awesome location. The walk to the lobby was short. The turret was to the left of us. There was a little garden in front of our decent size patio and then this long expanse of lawn , the walkway and the lake. It was like having your own estate! I liked the open feeling on the patio and the view of the lake and Boardwalk. In this photo we were in the room directly to the left of the yellow flower. :) http://images.hotel-rates.com/hotels/ORL_DYCR-exter-1.jpg

I have stayed at YC concierge water view many times. I prefer the rooms with numbers that start with 52__ (5217 is my favorite). These are further down the hall than the rooms YCFAN mentioned, but I don't find the walk to be too terrible. These rooms look out over the pool. The view of the pool, the lagoon, the Boardwalk, parts of Epcot, etc. is awesome. The high fireworks parts of Illuminations can be seen from these rooms.

As noted, make sure you request a room with a view of the lake/Boardwalk if that is what you want. We paid for a standard room and were "upgraded" for free to a water view room, but looked out onto the quiet pool. It was lovely, but had I paid for a water view room I would have been disappointed that I didn't have a Boardwalk view.

we paid for water view at BC and saw about 3 feet of water through window. following year stayed at YC and had beautiful view of lake - if you know where the wedding gazebo is - we were directly to the right of it on the third floor i believe. dd wants wedding there in about 5 years!
