Yacht Club refurbishment?

My parents just got back on the 5th and loved it! They did not hear of any referb going on, or in the plans either! It is just a beautiful hotel! I just smile thinking about it!

We were just there in June and no notice of any refurbishment going on.

KingdomHearts...was was YC CL??

Alot of times at this main website, they will list current and upcoming refurbishments...such as Fransiscos at CSR....HM being closed down, Alfredo's closing....

I havent seen anything and just re booked my trip to this resort:)

Stayed there last August, and personally, I think it *needs* a refurbishment. But I've not heard of anything.....

Do tell...curious..where do you think it needs a refurb? Rooms...furnishings..public areas? I have read the color schemes ..drapes , bedspreads kind of clash perhaps...but that was one website's review.
What kind of room did you have if you dont mind me asking?
Thanks for the info!

YC CL does that mean YC Club Level? My parents just got back at stayed at conceirge and there were no referbs going on. We have our reservations booked for December and April and we were not told of any that they are anticipating, although I know that it is too early. But I hope this helps! I guess if you are concerned of anything I would call up the YC and see if they are. :goodvibes

We leave today for the Yacht!! :cool1: Ill post back here when we return!!

We stayed on the first floor, standard view, overlooking the retention pond (basically a small swampy pond on the side closest to the Swan/Dolphin). It felt like we were in a basement.

I felt like the room itself needed to be refurbished. It was like being stuck in the 80's. For $315/night, I think the room should have flat screen TVs, not the large, deep one that was just sitting on top of a dresser. Look at this picture to see the TV and how it's just sitting on top of a dresser. Kind of like it was an after thought.

(I know it will sound crazy, but that large screen not being covered in sleeping quarters is really bad feng shui.)

The bedspreads need to be replaced, they are worn. The carpet was stained and needed to be replaced. The toilets were not the best quality, and did not flush well. The bathroom itself is really tiny for a deluxe, but that's not something that a refurb would really address. The wallpaper was not well stuck onto the walls, parts were peeling and there were crayon marks on the wallpaper.

And just to be a nit-pick, I think the small laundry room really needs an upgrade. The machines didn't work that were there, and when the dryers were running in that room (which is very small), the ventilation/air conditioning could not keep up and it was extremely hot in the room.

We didn't spend much time in the lobby, just for check-in and it seemed well kept and themed. Stormalong Bay was well-maintained, as were all the outside grounds, and the outside of the building.

I know...I have seen photos..I just dont get that TV thing...on the dresser. Flat screen TV's are at WL already...why not YC??
Regardless.....I am looking forward to the YC:)

Like all the resorts, I'm sure at some point the YC will need refurbishment. I just hope it's not during the time we're going (March/Easter 2008). As a family, we're pretty easy going, so you could stick us in the basement and we'd still be thrilled to be at WDW!
