Love the Yacht Club. Never stayed at the Beach. Been curious. Are the rooms the same? Is the theming better?

Online, for Beach Club it’s says..,
  • Includes a beverage cooler, coffee and tea station, and a patio or balcony.
Does that mean Refrigerator? Is it the same as in the Yacht Club? It doesn’t mention that for Yacht Club online.

BC is closer to Epcot.
YC has the better market

Which has the first bus pick up/ drop off?

Which would you choose?

Basically the same but just different theming and color palettes. The YC is due for refurbishment next spring.

New Beverage Cooler at BC from Sept. 2023 while the YC has the old Mini-fridges with no freezer section.

YC is first for pickup / drop off when they share busses.
Which would you choose?
When are you going? The SAB that is shared is due for a maintenance shutdown Jan 2025 - June 2025. The BC as about a 50% Full Balcony vs Juliette Balconies (stand up) vs the YC which has a very high full balcony ration with no Juliette Balconies.

The rooms are basically the same, except for decor. The Yacht Club usually is the first bus stop. We usually stay at the BC because it seems less stuffy. We do, however, like the Marketplace at the YC better. The two are connected, so it seems like one big resort to me.

Stayed at both, we prefer YC. However, I don't think you would be disappointed in BC. We just like the more quiet atmosphere and overall theme of YC versus BC.

All that said, you should try BC just so you can form your own opinion, unless the room rate for some reason is ridiculously higher, which typically it is isn't. Normally it is just a few bucks more.

Strengths and Weaknesses for both. We've stayed at (and loved both)

BC - Love the relaxed beachy, vibe
Closer to EPCOT
I like BC Marketplace better than the YC Market

Con - No guarantee of full balcony (BIG Con for me)

YC - First Bus Stop
Full balcony or patio
Closer to boat for DHS or walkway

IMHO you can't go wrong with either!

BC and YC have the same room amenities - same beverage cooler, same coffee maker, etc.

I like the layout of the YC rooms more than the BC. The bathrooms at the YC have been remodeled to have shower wands while the BC has the old, stationary shower heads. The YC has a closet system that includes plenty of open shelving while the BC has the same, old closet. All (except a couple) of the YC rooms have a full balcony while only 50% of the BC rooms have them.

Both the YC and BC have dedicated buses for park opening in the mornings, until sometime after 10am. But they share buses for the rest of the day. YC is the first stop.

BC is closer to the International Gateway and the Skyliner. YC is closer to Hollywood Studios and the boat dock.

We prefer the BC for location but will book whichever is cheaper. :)

YC is my favorite. It tends to be quieter and I like the QS there more than BC's QS option. I would let cost factor into this one. If BC offered a substantial savings over YC, I would probably book BC.

They're pretty much the same. We would pick depending on where we intend to spend most of our time. If it's HS, then YC; if it's Epcot, then BC. If both parks equal time, then it's whichever has the right availability and lowest cost. BC is our preferred, but they're both really good and so connected that the amenities make little difference between the two.

YC and BC are two wings of the same building, share all amenities, and the rooms are the same size, so keep in mind that any differences are rather small. You walk out of one and walk into the other.

The big difference is that most of the YC rooms have a full balcony, not all rooms at BC have a full balcony. For some, this is a big difference, but for some, it’s not a big difference, especially in the summer where those balconies can get pretty hot.

For me, the biggest practical difference is that the floors at BC are carpeted and the floors at YC are laminate. I am highly allergic and think carpets are yuck (I have 0 carpets/rugs in my house), so I love YC and avoid BC. But, there are guests who prefer carpets, so if that is your preference, BC has them.

This is super helpful for me (we love our hardwood floors at home, too), and not something I would have sought out, but if I have a choice this is nice to know. Love the DIS!

Do you have young children? The reason I ask is that I was coming back on the bus, and got chatting with the lady sitting next to me, who was staying at the Yacht Club, and she said she felt kind of out of place because she has 3 children under 6 yo, and the resort seemed to have fewer children than most she'd been to.

We have stayed in bcv studio, bc, and yc. I like bc the best in terms of room, yc 2nd, and bcv third. Bcv has edge because free laundry and microwave. Honestly, we do which ever is cheaper!

Because the YC is attached to a conference centre, it tends to have a lot of convention attendees and fewer children in the lobby area and restaurants. But the pool is part of the same complex, and it's a quick walk over to "the other side," where you'll see many more children and families and fewer conventioneers.

We stayed there recently with our 5 year old grandson and never felt out of place. We stayed there when our kids were little too

Definately not carpeted at Beach Club. Currently here and the floors in the regular rooms are laminate. No idea about the dvc rooms

I’m so happy to hear that! They completed a refurbishment in December, so they must have decided to follow the cleaner feel of YC. Good news indeed! 👍🏽

I agree with most other posters that we book whichever is cheaper BUT the YC bathroom sink area can be separated from the room with a sliding door, when our daughter was in a pack & play we put it in there for her naps and it was a lifesaver! She had a dark quiet place to sleep while the rest of the family could watch tv/talk etc
